Some time later, a fair few joined up and we were all chatting to each other.
We discussed balance, and then I went to Game Options and set the gamespeed to Adjustable, clicked OK and...

Then I noticed something strange - 8 players were in the slots, I wasn't one of them.
I was hosting! I should have appeared to at least be an observer - but I couldn't see myself in the observer list either.

8 Players readied up, and the START GAME button lit up - the game would not start after clicking it (didn't really expect it to, anyway).
