I had some trouble to installing, so I just decided to install my latest windows updates (about time lol), restart my pc, and then try again. It worked, hope this helps!

I deinstalled faf and i tried to download it from the website and my com told me that smartscreen blocked the download because its not good for my pc. I downloaded it on my risk and tryed to install and at around 40% it crashed. I need help fast i wanna play!!

I will try those.
The thing is, that before they worked, I did not change anything on the system or to the installation folder, I did not even apply recent windows updates.

EDIT: I have tried several things, so far nothing fixed the issue. For now I could install it only from elevated command prompt. But that is not a solution.

It's a standard MSI package. You probably want to use google with "msi" and "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run." keywords.

Maybe try uninstalling FAF first. And check if the install directory is empty before you try again.

Thats what I would do myself at least

DLL problem with Windows Installer package

I tried to update the FAF Lobby from version 0.8.48 to 0.8.54.

So I downloaded the installer ( FAForeverLobby-0.8.54.msi ) first through the updater, but it did not work, so I downloaded it through the website too. Both times, when starting the installer, it threw the error message:

"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your Support personnel or package vendor."

How can the problem be solved?
