Ok did some searching for the MSI cleaner but it's a discontinued product from MS. Instead there's an alternative bit of software located here: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Progr ... _Uninstall called 'MS Fix It', I ran this and found the FAF installation and let the software do its thing.

Once it had run through I re-ran the latest FAF update and it installed just fine, thanks for pointing me in the right direction

MSI error, can't do much about it. Google it, try MSI cleaner,...

I've had this issue a while, usually it doesnt bother me so much because I play FAf at LANs where I can copy the install folder from a fellow player pretty instantly.

Basically when I try to update FAF it first uninstalls the previous version but fails because it's missing a temp file, this is a file I've not found on another persons computer either so it doesnt make too much sense. I get the following error:

I cant install FAF to a different location because it always tries to remove the old version and fails, so far the only workaround has been to completely overwrite the old folder with someone elses updated FAF.

Currently running win7 64it if it helps.

I tried a search on the forums for the filename tmpsofrcx.msi and didnt see anything and it's not a crash so cant post any logs, any help would be appreciated, thanks.
