You have to read the thread.

sorry, enabled it and trying to recreate the problem,

Try setting it like this :

uPnP off in FAF.

If it still doesn't work, try replacing all the 6112 by 7001, in FAF and the port forwarding section of your router too.

Okay, I'll try this now

What is your router exactly ?
What is your local IP address ?
Why do you want a different port internally and externally ? Have you another PC using your network ? If so, why there is not a single rule about that PC ?
Are you sure it's not a problem with FA itself (not connecting shouldn't produce the kind of screenshot you've posted) ?
Do you really need a router ? You don't need any if you have a single PC. You can connect your PC directly to the ADSL modem or whatever you are using.

Sagemcom Sagem 2504N

192.168.56.1

I'm not actually sure, I'm just trying to get FAF to work properly

I have 5 other pcs a ps3 and 3 moblile phones on my network, 2 ethernet and the rest wifi (not including my own pc, which is also ethernet)

I'm a networking noob, I'm not even sure what you mean by setting a single rule

I don't think so, It has been working fine for a long time and the problem has only started recently, FA hasn't been updated in steam so i can't see any reason for it being FA. I have also tried re-installing FAF but I get the same problems.

I do need a router, home network is used by the family

6112 is forwarded to 6112.
Meaning that your firewall entry is incorrect (it's for packets from 6112 routed to 65535).

Also, the destination IP (your computer IP, probably something like 192.168.x.x) is not present, so there is no way your router know where to sent these packets.

And finally, for some reason, some routers doesn't like port 6112 at all. You can try 7001 for example if it doesn't work.

Changed it so 6112 is now forwarded to 65535,

Where do I put my destination IP? I can't see anywhere to enter it

P.S. Apologies for being such a bother

Won't make a difference, you are not in the right section.
Firewall stop or allow packets to go through.

What you want is tell your packets to go from one point to another (can be in "routing", "port forwarding" or "Network Address Translation/NAT" section of your router.

This is all I can find on my router,
if this is it, already done it

However all posts I can find online about port forwarding seem to use those screens to create a service to allow through the firewall

So turning off uPnP lets me connect to FAF better, whats new and chat connect fine now, however i still get this when I try to join a game (there is a player in that slot)

Seems like a lobby glitch in this case. Maybe a broken map ?
