I got banned for using vmware just this minute, I read the first few posts but it still makes no sense. VMWare is a neccecary tool for a lot of people, not sure why it should just ban you, withouth even giving you a warning. My account name is Jellle, maybe you can make an exception for people who have to use vmware? Because of the problems using a mac with supcom.

Yep, definitely banned. Please remove my ban. I was trying to visit the chat lobby with the FA Forever Lobby while at work. We use Macs at work which required me to use a Windows VM in order to install FA Forever... which apparently causes on to get banned. Please unban and I'll live with using IRC at work.

I'd like to throw out a vote for doing the VM check at a point that allows joining the chat lobby, but still prevents joining/hosting a game. While at work for example, where I can't actually play a game, it'd be nice to still be able to use all the features of the lobby including those that aren't possible through IRC alone.

Also, I'm probably banned...

unfortunately the furthest one can get is to the login procedure on linux.
you could make the login not require the smurf detector token, but only require it when joining games as a start.
