I had the exact same problem and disabling 'Constant Guard' fixed it!!

Comcast comes with a program called 'Constant Guard'. Although i would completely disable my windows firewall in an attempt to 'fix' this problem, the program itself was blocking ALL of the faf.ex AND Supcom.exe's from running. I didn't find this out until the problem was persisting for about 3 weeks when a notifier came up FROM constantguard notifying me that it was blocking activity. I completely forgot about this program as i THOUGHT i had disabled it all together because it was blocking other things as well...

I was not deleting any files or making any changes to game files, though it should be noted that hidden programs may be blocking activity. It would probably be a good idea for people to verify all existing and pre existing forms of protection are verified to be disabled. I came a crossed as a d***, and i apologize for that.

Thank you for the work you did and for assisting me in the ability that you were able to.

If launching C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe" doesn't work, how making it works can it be related to a server restart ?

By the way, you are talking on a steam install, but I see in the logs that you are NOT using that install for FAF. Try changing it. (Options - Settings - Game path).

...because i would go into the game files after FINALLY getting it to work (after doing nothing to fix it) and start deleting files ? It would seem that other people are having this issue as well.

I don't see how it can be related.

You've probably deleted something that cause your problem.

ok...i was able to get into a game...play and finish it out......now i'm back to square one....i cannot join ANY others nor watch replays again.

I am now able to join and launch games...it would seem that something happened after the server went down and came back up...

And starting the .exe in c:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin doesn't work either right ?

when you've said you have deleted all prefs, does that include these directories :

c:\Users\login\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\
And
c:\Users\login\AppData\Local\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\
?

Did you tried erasing all the things in c:\ProgramData\FAForever\ ?

Game logs are enabled..the problem is i cant even get into a game. Does this help? Please bear with me.

***update*** i deleted EVERY SINGLE file i could on my computer related to SUPCOM FA...i also deleted EVERY file related to FAF....upon reinstalling supcom fa i updated to 3599.....then re downloaded FAF (7.600)....

when i launch supcom fa on its own...i can now load a skirmish game and play...when i launch FAF i cannot join games, i cannot host games, nor can i watch replays whether live or in the vault.
