Check your firewall/peerblock/antivirus, you are probably blocking FAF server.

I also had problems yesterday and never received the email to reset the password. Apparently the email address that I started the account with is no longer active and I know longer have access to it. (not even sure what it was.) Is there a way to change my email address so that the address is valid? I was able to log in with my original password and now have access but the email address still concerns me.

I'm also having trouble. I just installed FAF yesterday, and it was working fine around 6pm(USA). I got off, and now I can't connect. It just sits on "establishing connection". Anyone know what to do?

From what I see in the log, some unsuccessful attempts were creating some ghosts, making the server more "secure" about you two. It's fixed.

Strangely enough, after changing loads of settings in my router and firewall, then resetting both and finally restarting my PC it's now working. Whether it was due to a long and convoluted stream of changes that I can't possibly remember or something just came back up on the server side I don't know. Either way, I'm glad of the help I've received and look forward to seeing you on the battlefield

Duh, forgot about hidden folders, I've found the log file.

However after looking at it I had another go at logging on and it is now working... Weird. Good ole IT...

What was the directory you were looking into ? It's in ProgramData/faforever/logs on win7 (can be hidden).

Well I'm still not having much luck:-(

I can't find the faforever.log file- in fact there isn't even a logs folder in my faf directory. Have reinstalled the app with no joy.

If I reset my password via website/email and try to log in it tells me that the password is incorrect so it is talking to the faf server, however when I enter my new password it returns to the 'logging in' tab and just hangs. Very odd.

I don't think it can be a router/firewall problem as I've tried turning these off to no effect and also when I enter the wrong password it connects and tells me (see above).

Argh!

I've reset my password but it's still hanging. I've posted the latest logs below and stopped for now after reading your post about the new bot protection and server load affecting things (don't know if it still applies).

I'm aware that it might have something to do with various settings in my firewall/router which I've fiddled about with far beyond my abilities, but if it's easy to identify the exact problem it might help save me from wasting hours configuring Comodo and my router when there's no need

That's strange. I've tried it with the correct username and password (I can confirm by using different passwords and having it create an error) and it just hangs, and I'm now having delays with password reset e-mails arriving in my inbox which means I cannot do anything for a while until I get them and reset my password

On each attempt, you failed to either enter the right user or password.

Can you try giving it right the first time ?
