I wanted to say "thank you" to everyone who contributed to this event and greatly surpassed the prize winnings generated in previous years. This, combined with the fact that the server is seeing a player count of 1500+ has given me nothing but fortification to keep contributing and building the community. It is greatly unfortunate that the issue with Espi took place, but it was accordingly addressed just as is any incident in competitive gaming/sports/etc.

Expect big things and further increases in prizes in tourneys, should I have anything to do with it.

Thank you all who participated, and all who gave such great feedback for the event. I never thought FAF would survive this long when I joined 6 years ago, but nothing but "better" is happening as time goes on.

Devil's advocate on the cheating: A faulty debouncing circuit on a mouse button could in theory cause multiple clicks per physical click. However, this will of course cause double-clicks everywhere, UNLESS you have one of those fancy programmable mice with more buttons than a 747 cockpit or a dodgy side button that you could learn to exploit with a bit of practise. The intent would still need to be there, of course.

The animation Petric posted is very illuminating.

Thanks to everyone that participated! Whether a player, donor, director, streamer, developer, moderator, and/or caster, everyone played their own role in making sure the event worked out as smoothly as possible. Events like these are great not only for bringing everyone together and organizing to make a tradition successful, but also for showing how we can improve in later years. While I think there were many strides made to make this tournament better for both viewers and players, it definitely had aspects I could improve on that I hope to ameliorate in future events. I hope it had the same effect on players and they saw it not only as a fun opportunity but one to look back on as motivation to improve for future tournaments. I’m sure many games in this tournament are ready to be mined for analysis, review, or just general entertainment for that exact reason.

I look forward to next year’s major event and hope all of you do too. Congratulations to all 4 top finishers!

ReplayID from Petric's recording is 10756344. The game is against Isen on Arcane. The order is on the lower right of the island somewhere between 1:35-1:40. The text is a bit hard to read on Petric's recording but there you have the information to judge by yourself. The parsed replay is probably Roanoke against Jagged, ID 10759386. The second engineer reclaims rocks on the right side of the island, after the mex order has been given, just after 1:10. And then another group of reclaim orders after the mex order on the small island to the right of the main island.

I've done some reclaiming on Roanoke to see how it would compare but I'm having difficulty, so I've attached my own replay. Left-click reclaim orders, while zoomed in on the reclaim, and then clicking like mad. Make of this what you will.
