I've posted my top 5, of which the top 3 won avatars, and the recipient of the Winner of Hearts, I kept the others out of placements in order to not crush anyone's hopes too bad, but if you would like to hear my reasoning on either A: why you were placed where you were, as well as B: where you were placed if you were not in the Top 5, ask here. By doing so however you open yourself up to having the full weight of my criticisms brought upon you. You have been warned.

Without further ado:

Number 1
Spoiler: show
The Ganges Chasma, by BorgCubeJanitor

Number 2
Spoiler: show
Mirage, by Morax(Cool Brackman)

Number 3
Spoiler: show
Hammada, by Platinumizer, a very close win over number 4

Number 4
Spoiler: show
Melted Duel, by Apofenas

Number 5
Spoiler: show
Tofina Night, by lilSidlil

Winner of Hearts (Most original)
Spoiler: show
Virginfell, by Petricpwnz (Which really didn't have much competition as it aimed to be the most original as possible from the get go..)

If you won a spot, I didn't place your other submissions. I kept the highest achieving of course.
You ask a mod to give you the avatar if you won, give them this post as proof.

I now open the thread up to both discussions on maps posted here (if you have anything to give to these authors) and your thoughts on the next tourney. I'm asking what size, a longer deadline? etc.

Thank you very much once again for submitting, i didn't expect such a turnout. If you won, congrats! if not? better luck next time.

submission deadline is nicely hidden

Sure, but at the time of posting it was the latest post in both this thread and in the entire tournament subforum.
While I have employed and can possibly employ a countdown timer in the future, your inability to check the thread for a tournament you're participating in - even for posts made by the director himself - is not my problem.

Evildrew wrote:
even though on page one it is mentioned that he updated the OP to include stuff...

The deadline is not the rules or the prizes, the rules are in the spoiler tag titled restrictions; wherein the deadline is not mentioned.

just that it is before the end of June which would be midnight in a logical man's mind :)

A logical man will check the thread.

My stance on this will not change. It's expected of contestant/contestant aspirants to monitor the tournament thread for updates leading up to the date, and the same applies here. there is nothing more I can tell you.

4pm on the 28th right now, and the submissions will be closed in 48 hours

A countdown sounds like a pretty universal timer that does not factor in timezones.

The map has one neat thingy I discovered (you will see what I mean when you launch it) but I only started the map 2 days before the deadline so only used it on a small gimmick, but could probably base an entire map off of it with enough time at hand.
