At first i disliked the reasons why BC didnt participate in the IGC, but after seeing sheeo killing off the golden clan tags for good, i understand what they mean.

I didn't hear about this... When was this done? I'm kind of confused as the current IGC is supposed to award that to the #1, no?

Suggestion for motivating players: free minimal bonus global rating to participants in tourneys coupled with an extensive pointing system for the winners.

The rounds will turn over on a weekly (or fortnightly) basis, and commence when the round maps are posted, by the tournament director in the forum. With three 1v1, two 2v2, one 3v3 and one 4v4 map. In exactly the same format as IGC. It is then up to each clan make as many challenges as possible during the week. Challenges can be made whenever the clan has a minimum of 6 of it's posted players online, and can be accepted by any other clan with 6 players able to face them.

The challenge is counted as soon as it has been accepted, and all of the BO3 and KO rounds must be completed. Upon completion of the challenge the replays will be posted into the forum thread. Refusal to complete an accepted challenge will be considered a forfeit and counted as loss for any games not played. Clans can negotiate a recess to find suitable playing times; but it will be upto players to ensure that all of the challenge games are played. Any incomplete challenges or disputes arising from incomplete challenges may result in no points being awarded at the discretion of the tournament director.

There is no limit to the number of challenges a team can make or accept during the week - and all challenges will count for score. So the clan who plays in more challenges will win more points. With the only limitation being that any two clans cannot complete more than one challenge vs. each other during the same round.

The round is ended once the maps for the new round are posted by the tournament director - and any further challenges posted using maps from the previous round will not be accepted.

Score is awarded as follows:
1v1 BO3 = 3 points
2v2 = 3 points
3v3 = 6 points
4v4 = 8 points
Challenge loss modifier = -6 points.

Examples for tourneys:

1.) Beta clanwar for efficient beta testing (simple clanwar rules)
Rules exactly or alike IGC or mixed with other proposals for clanwars

2.)CLan ladder week (rewarding numer of wins in a time depending on players/game)
idea stolen from e clan ladder week make a reporting system with different points rating for clan vs clan games. 1v1 2 points - 2v2 5 points - 3v3 10 points - 4v4 16 points to be reported so sommebody in excel file

3.) Regular repeating IGC (simple clanwar rules)
Simple clanwar

4.) Galactic Clanwar (rewarding activity)
Create a manual meta game since gw is not working and give a universe map in online excel fields fix maps to fields and crate nice rules then let every clan start like in gw and try to conquer the universe. Fields can be conquered by fight on dedicated maps and reporting games. Limits like time to defend and so on. Nice ideas can be invented for this 8-)

5.) Time is a ressource dont waste it tourney (rewarding snipe players )
Rules like in IGC but winning points not according to match like 1v1 2v2 3v3 4v4 but according to shorter time of the win. 1v1 won in 5 minutes 5 points in 10 minutes 4 points ind 15 minutes 3 points in 20 minutes 2 points and so on. Thats just IGC rules with different points for victories.

6.) CLan season Map tourney
For example take summer tourney summer duel 2v2 another green map and so on. It is like king of map. And fix same maps to 1v1 2v2 3v3 through the whole tourney.

7.) Touney alike 1v1 tourneys
where clans can be kicked out if they lose a round with loser bracket. Rules alike IGC but maybe different player matches and points. The points will be counted only for 1 round then deleted because only the overall win counts since losers will be kicked.

8.) WWCC
Same rules for clans like WWPC. Loser dropped out for 1 season and the winner has to fight BO3 (tons of games) vs the winner clan. Estimated cicle time with 6 clans 5-6 weeks. BO3 takes alone 3 weeks. But up to 8 challenger clans thats played in 3 weeks.

No idea what else could be possible. THe idea with manual gw should be funny and additional be played in beta :lol:
The main point about all things is that the battle days have to be fixed otherwise it is impossible to organize so many people. This is Anotehr big problem for a regular clan ladder to bring the people together for games.

The Intergalactic Colosseum is a lot of fun and I'm enjoying it greatly so far. A big "thank you" to Stups for reviving this essential part of FAF and bringing together top-flight players to compete once again.

That said, I'd like to propose after Joly gave me the idea that we create some kind of a more lax system where clans can challenge each other. Perhaps it could be like the WWPC, "Weekly Tournaments," etc. It's always asking a lot of the devs but maybe when some more feature-building friendly times arrive we could make a clan leaderboard much like the ladder; maybe a suite of avatars; or my favorite idea thus far: priority balance points to form the way the game is played.

Balance is a touchy subject and in my mind the people who should decide it are the folks that are the most active by playing and winning. This to me is the ultimate reward.

I hope people have some insight, thoughts, and feedback. Long live FAF.
