It is a nice milestone to see a FAF event surpass $1,000. I am looking forward to seeing that grow and continue.

Thank you very kindly for being such a generous and thoughtful member!

Was holding out on the decision funding the LegendOfTheStars Tournament this year until December as my son just got his license so I have to buy him his first car which will soak up spare cash :?

...then today saw Keyser on Twitch in a qualifier...what a great community when someone picks up the ball and moves forward with worthy events. Cheers FtXCommando and Morax.

Now they kept the Tournie name so therefore I feel obligated to fund first prize = AU$500.

FtXCommando I'll get in contact and send you the cash in the next day or so, that way it's secured with the tourney organizers.

Good luck everyone.

Well it is time to help out with five(5) dates to add to the FAF 2018 gaming calendar.

For my part I will again sponsor an End-of-Year-Championship.

I will sponsor four (4) qualifying tournaments and the main championship as per last year.

The final tournament will feature the best 16 FAF players competing for the title, a unique trophy, and a cash prize! This is a 1v1 tournament with no rating limit.

a) LegendOfTheStars Championship Qualifying Tournaments x 4
Prize pool for each tournament:

1st place: 50 $AU + Championship Entry Spot
2nd place: 30 $AU + Championship Entry Spot
3rd place: 20 $AU + Championship Entry Spot

First three finalists and highest placed U1900 player in tourney earn a spot in the 'End-of-Year-Championship 2018' tournament! NOTE: To mix it up and share the limelight, each 1st place winner is ineligible for the following qualifiers (ie- you can win only one qualifier please)

b) LegendOfTheStars FAF End-of-Year-Championship 2018
(December)

1st place: 500 $AU + TROPHY (approx 1000 $AU total)
2nd place: 150 $AU
3rd place: 50 $AU

I'm not an organizer so I will thank in advance whoever takes this role and the Tournament Directors and Casters!

Let planning for the end of year Championship begin. Lets see if we can promote the event to get more live views for our great casters ;)

NOTE: FAF Players Council - my day job prevents me randomly sending money around the world so can you please nominate someone you trust in USA or Australia who can distribute prize money and I'll send it to them via Paypal. Thanks

Kind regards
LotS

2-Veterans.....100 games is good for encouraging people to play more often,
.......................and allow other players to have a player history with each other.
3-Alliance.....Realism! - It is more realistic that the Same factions would be on same side, and not fighting each other.
4-u7200......The previous "Rainbow Cup" u7000, on May 12th had more than 20 teams enter.
................Attracting more than 84 players was amazing,
................Bumping rating cap to u7200 is to shoot for the magic sweet spot of 16 teams for this "Rainbow Alliance Cup"!
................Similar rating = possible rematches - Noob, Vegetable, GB, + Epic Synergy stacks at the finals again?
5-Variety.....Players who usually play only one faction, will likely have to play a different faction in at least one match.
...............The order of reveal in lobby pre game will be an important strategic consideration.
...............Pick your Alliance's well!

(now scheduled for July 7th, 2018 - /viewtopic. ... 77#p164917

"Rainbow Cup II - Alliance's"
4 vs 4 tournament, - u7200, - Veterans

$400 prize pool (+$100 to TD, to cover payment's and fee's).
1st Place = $220
2nd Place = $120
3rd Place = $60

Capped at u7200 team combined rating.
100 games played requirement (Veterans)

Each team will consist of 2 factions only,
......and be different from opponents 2 factions.
...... hence the "Alliance's" part of the Tournament Title:
............ie: Team 1 = Aeon and Sera only, and Team 2 = UEF and Cybran only.

For this tournament a faction based colour system is to be enabled as follows:
Each player MUST match their selected faction with a faction approved color -
Failure to pick proper color, may be cause for DQ at TD's discretion.
........see chart below.
,,
Rainbow Alliance.jpg

In the game lobby before launch, the following conditions shall apply:*

1- The top team in bracket is to be Team #1, and bottom team is Team #2.
2- All players take "a" position on their side of map, and start with "random faction" selected.
3- Team #1 then acts first and has one player reveal a faction, pick color and "x" up,
4- Team #2 acts second and has two players reveal 2 different factions, color and "x" up,
.............(The 2 factions they reveal, are now their "Alliance", and
................. their remaining picks are chosen from this alliance).
5- Team #1 reveals the final 4th faction, (this step creates their alliance) and
..................then reveals their last 2 players.
6- Team #2 then reveals their last 2 players.

*notes:
......1- During the "reveal" the player must also pick a faction appropriate color.
......2- At end of the "reveal" the player will "x" up, and cannot move there after.
......3- Players may change positions before and up until their own reveal.
......4- Teams meeting for a 2nd time will reverse the order of the "reveal" for fairness.

For the record, i payed up the exchange fees and transfer fees (30 AUD), but im not going to be paying for the transfer fees to other players, that would get me bankrupt :(

This means that players won't receive the full prize, but about 3-5% less, unless i win a lotery, then they receive 3-5% more!

Hi Tokyto,

Please send winning players full prize amount and let me know the additional cost, and I will send you extra money to cover it. Also please take your 30AUD for fees back out of money already sent, I'll send extra after the first two tornies once we understand the extra cost ;)

Thanks for organising.

LotS

Hello,

i'm afraid it's too late to send them the full prize for this qualifier tournament. Already sent everyone the money :(

The fees aren't actually that big, so i'm happy to pay for that (I hope the quality is good enough on this screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/4ClXJFu.png). So i will pay the full prizes up until the grand finals starting from the next qualifier tournament.

Thanks again for everything!

Tokyto.
