if I remember correctly, the problem ended up being the color choices in faf,
I don't have time to get into it, but if you search on the forum you will find the details.
the problem is the config file on your system, it stores the last used color in a game.
FAF supports colors that do not exist in local play. the config file stores the last color you played.
I always ended up finding the color = 11 and I just edited the file and changed it to 1
and it worked fine.

sorry for the nerco but i have this problem as well has anyone found a fix? if i create a new profile it works but i dont want to create a new profile everytime i start a game

That doesn't actually solve the problem, its just a way to use Lan game, VS Skirmish wich you can save games..

I also have this problem, has anyone found a cure for it?
I cant use Skirmish after using FAF ( I can click the drop menu to try to add an AI, the list is populated, it highlights the selection on mouse over, but clicking does not allow you to actually select) so I cant add anyone to my Skirmish.

if you need logs, please tell me how to send them, I cant actually start the game because I cant Select an Opponent.

I found a way to solve the problem, go to lan be click obsever then choose the map, then occupy a space and start the game. That fixed it for me.

It's not possible that FAF is altering your original install. (I mean really impossible, your install directory needs admin rights to be altered, and the lobby is not running with any right).

More probably, it's an issue with the prefs file. Try to host a game in FAF, lower the unit limit to 250, and try to skirmish outside FAF again.

I went fishing throught the forum and found 2 other people with our problem, shortly after installinf FAF and playing a match online the skirmish feature breaks. Causing them to reinstall FA. I'm sorry to say, but something about FAF has to be causing our problems.

I just had the problem after a game again. How do you post the logs? i could do it. Um, also it has to be something with FAF. I hope we can figure out what the problem is soon, i hate reinstalling Forged Alliance.

yes work too, but i play 1 game on faf and the problem is here... i don't want to reinstal the game all the time...

I solved the problem on my end, delete every map you have (custom only) then reinstall the game.

I have FA version 599, no mods no maps anymore (other then supcom originals) no extra files yet i have the same problem this poor chap has. What do we do?
