Why don't you just ask a mod to remove the dead player? Worked for me.

Believe it or not.. mods sometimes sleep or are afk/not online for whatever other reason. Also why would a mod needed for this? The solution is pretty much a no brainer.

There was a kick mod before, but as always someone disabled it.

It still works, however. The argument to not make it popular was "possibility of abuse" (well in my experience mods abuse their kick abilities way easier, but whatever). The point is, it can be implemented in a way that it can only be used to kick players that are simply afk. And no player should be mad cause he has been kicked for being dead, afk and lagging the game down.. and if so I don't think anyone needs to care...

Had the same issue quite a few times.. extremely annoying. Most of the time someone just went afk as observer or even fell asleep. No bad intentions, but still a ruined game. Often it is impossible or time consuming to get someone to kick the player so the game can continue. Often made me wonder: Can't we have a simple command to kick an afk player? To prevent abuse it could simply ask every player (also the player in question) "do you want player x to leave the game?" and if there is even one "no" then nothing happens..

That does not work because FAF makes it ridiculously hard to look up users names, and the trolls keep changing their name every week.

Names are now locked for an entire month and it no longer expires on a specific day such as the start of the week like it used to be. This allowed people to game the system by changing on Sunday and changing again on Monday so now it simply locks the name for 30 days since the last change.

Dude you cut off a very important part of the sentence which changes the whole perspective. Did you miss that ?

Very sorry, was just trying to save space and I didn't intend to misquote you! That part of your quote is what I was referring to when I said that players attempting to finish the game without quitting are generally not trying to slight you. They just want to play it out, not intentionally waste your time, and if you then drag out a match you waste their time and your teammates' time and your own time. That's all I meant, sorry again for not including your whole quote. I hope you don't think I was trying to be deceptive.

I am VERY not courteous. But I still play fair no matter what, and I do not CTRLK if game is not over.

Again: this doesn't really bother me one way or the other. Some may say it's bad sportsmanship and they're probably right but I try not to take games too seriously because then nobody has fun. As much as I oppose the idea of a public shaming thread, I think this thread's most basic intent is to make people aware of players who are "very not courteous" so they can decide whether or not to play with them. If you're willing to volunteer that you aren't always a courteous teammate, then I don't see what all the fuss is about. :)

Anyways I have one very simple question ?
Do you really experience those CTRLK situations (teamate doing so in ur base, ctrlk when a lab has been killed, when a mex has been sniped, when a drop succeeded, etc.) THAT often ? I really don't. It does happen on med games, very still not so often to be crying about it, and it does happen in good games when game is over.

I don't think this is the main complaint of OP, and I agree it's not common. I think the big complaint against ctrl-K quits instead of just leaving the game is that full share can't share to teammates who want to keep going if you ctrl-K your whole base.

ed: clarity

Regarding this thread on the whole: I think it's kinda petty to use a forum thread to publicly shame people who you don't want to play with. If you have an issue with someone quitting I think the bigger thing to do is to take it up with them and block them if need be. That said...

It is very true.

pretending that you're always a courteous teammate is disingenuous because you can't have it both ways

I am VERY not courteous. But I still play fair no matter what, and I do not CTRLK if game is not over.

I'll even extend to say that I team killed teamates, in the *sole* purpose of SAVING the team (in opposition to wasting time for 7 people). Note that it wasn't executed before countless request of not playing selfish were done, yet ignored.
But this is kinda taboo to say as team killing is frown upon.

Didn't see any setons BS. Just a very short exchange between gala and his evil twin, as teasing. Relax guys :)

Seriously there's no big deal about this.
