Just a few things of note....

This is only for the Aeon faction and all four pics are required for the same button. Each picture represents a different state of the icon button. Depressed / Released / Mouse-Over ect...

#4 looks best. #1 is far too bright.

Probably if the arcs were a bit more spaced out (closer to the edge and maybe a bit thicker) then you could make the bolt slightly larger.

As for the bolt itself, a brighter color (#1's background color could work) and a 2D shape might make it more visible since the "solid effect" seems to darken it a bit.

Also, assuming i understood correctly and this is something all factions have, can we see the result for the other faction's colors?

Here is the final icon and yes i have this in game.

As simple as this looks it requires the use of multiple overlaid images, re-scaled and re-colored to achieve the desired effect.

Too much detail may not show up as rember the icons are only 64 x 64 pixles wide.

What about the lighting bolt with the "anti" sign (the circle with the diagonal bar) with arrows sticking out from the edge?

Anti+bolt=no electricity (emp)
Arrows=every direction=area of effect.

Or is it too cluttered?

I know but I mean like if you have T2 T3 upgrade for factions, that circle in middle that is sign for tech upgrade is green for aeon, blue for uef together with background. So yout lightning for aeon should be green, not blue

Each button actually has four separate icons depending on what position (including mouse overs) the button is in. Now as for the faction the current color scheme is for Aeon.

Not sure what you want it for, but I would vary on the the icon that is in use in the game, so indeed use a lighting bolt.
