I think it would be rellay nice to have basic rotation options. Saw a Setons game the other day. Mavor vs. Mavor. By the time the southern Mavor has turned north, the northern Mavor already had shot a couple of times, penetrating the shields :(

Yeah just played a Thermo (don't judge me!) where I finished my t3 arty first but ended up losing because of the turn time

For example:
The sera air factory (and I *think* the uef air fac) always has its engineers exit from the south of the factory. If you are in a southern starting position (and therefore will likely want your engineers to head north) then engineers heading north (to the middle of the map/the most useful direction for the player) have to navigate around the factory.
(With other factories units can exit either east or west depending on the rally point, and no advantage is gained depending on position)

T3 arty always builds with the gun pointing south, so a T3 arty built in the north (firing south) will have the initial advantage over a T3 arty built in the south (firing north) due to the long time it takes the gun to change direction. The same thing happens with T2 arty although I cannot remember which way they face initially (I think it is always east).

Experimentals are built facing one direction (usually south) so if your enemy is in the north, then you face a time penalty whilst your exp turns around to face the right direction once built.

(Apologies if this has been discussed before, had a quick search and couldn't find anything)
