I see no need to speculate. It did go off and death would have no doubt been painless and instantaneous. No human remains would have been recovered. So I really don't understand where you are going with this line of argument.

he started the thread wanting to talk about aliens raping mutilated girls. It was nauseating from the start, he's just trying again as people didn't share his special interest.

Sorry but no, shields and overcharge do not change the fact that T3 SABs murder Commanders, and keeping them on the front lines in the T3 stage is suicide. Same whenever there are lots of gunships in play, you put your Com under a shield and some SAMs/T2Flak if you don't have ASFs/Interceptors enough. Hell, without shields and a decent amount of T1 and T2 PD, keeping the Com at the frontlines at T2 is suicide.

didn't you read plasmawolf's posts?

I've lost count how many times I have seen excellent, outstanding players get sniped or blasted away in the early game because they were either too aggressive or maintained that aggression way too long. It's just one of those things that is unforgivable, when it is so easily rectified by bringing the Com back letting your army and engineers carry the burden. If you actually need your Com on the frontlines Overcharging away at T3 and T2 armies, you aren't in a good position and probably about to be over run without help incoming.
