Hi Knorpsel

To answer your questions:

1. There is no "council" today. Keep in mind I had no idea I'd be doing any of this 4 days ago... I just jumped in head first. The council is just an idea I have. Very early stages. My very early idea is 5 people, representing 5 area of importance to us all:

(A) Server operations and maintenance
- physical servers
- required services
- backups, server scaling, etc

(B) Software development and maintenance
- client and server
- core mod/balance
- lobby

(C) Community support
- moderation: rules, kicks, bans, etc
- communication: site content, webmaster, news updates, announcements, etc
- support: chat, forums, training, etc

(D) Community growth
- marketing and advertising
- casts and tournaments
- Facebook and social media

(E) Council operations
- conflict resolution
- funding and budgets
- other organizational issues

Again this just an early idea. Let's call it an Alpha Idea.

[...]

3. The dev team will be doing that yes. We all want to be very open about whats going on. The only reason you don't see much published yet is because not much has been decided yet!

Now after about one month, can you give a more detailled version of your idea? Did your pov change?
I see some complaining about that some work that has been done or is in progress but hasn't spread throughout the community yet.
Maybe I missed it too, but is there some kind of official project list or a list of persons who are posting on your behalf?

Have a good weekend all!

BTW I'm dressed like a Brick on Halloween ;)

You can't modify the Blackops code (or any other mod) without the authorization of the team.
That's why it's "stuck in pre-patch age".

But we can modify the code which the mod mounts onto. Also, in the case of BlackOps, getting permission to take over and update is gonna be a cinch :)

If the preaching of religion offends you, you really, really need to grow up and get some perspective.

LD acted, as normal, as a very good moderator. The guy did much more than just say those things, but the problem was not what was said, it was the obvious intention behind it. The guy preaching did not set out to deliberately cause offence. The guy who got banned did. It's that simple.

Causing offence by accident, as in the case of preaching and you apparently, is unavoidable sometimes. People who set out to deliberately cause offence are people this community does not need.

Question : Why did the mods/admin stay the same ?

The difference with him preaching and you saying cocks for Jesus is that his preaching is largely inoffensive while your statement was not.

When I see that, from an admin (why is this LD guy an admin again on FAF ? ), you may question the fairness.

Sorry to burst it to you but someone preaching religion is way more offensive to me. Double standard much ?

And you are reading something from someone who obviously says things out of anger of just being banned. You may question the fairness, but it's still peoples work and he is only banned for one day and I'm sure it wasn't just saying 'cocks for jesus' that got him banned (nobody would instaban anyone for saying just that). Just question that post as well then if you want to make a fair judgement.
