The first number indeed tells the tech level, but the annoying part is that quite some numbers are wrong. You can see this easily when you open the cheat menu in-game and try to search for a specific unit. The CZAR for example, is in the T3 section of the menu.

There's one unit where it's on purpose, I think: the engineering stations are also split in the different tech levels. The Cybran ones are in T1,T2,T3 for the first, second, third drone. The same goes for the UEF, where T1 and T2 are linked to the first and second drone. Still a bit annoying though, because the Engineering station is really a T2 unit.

U = Unit ; or something like that, I suppose. But seeing others and the faf added stuff i guess that's kinda randomly selected as I can't find any patch related word that has either X, D or Z in it.

A = Aeon ; a letter from the faction name... why didn't they use then a U for UEF and a C for Cybran, I don't know.

B = Building ; a type for the object.

0--- = a numbering id for the -in this case building- object category: factory (0), economy (1), weapon (2), sensor (3), defense (4), support(5). This is 0 for all whose type is not building. Since there is only one of each unit category: command, engineer, aircraft, vehicle, and ship unit category.

-1-- = tech level ; the second number.

--01 = a numbering id for the object. the land factory's is 01 the air factory's is 02, aaand i guess it goes so on until there is a tech level, category or type change.

... as I understand it. Though, I'm not sure.

the next letter stands for the type so A = Air L = land B = building s = navy (ships)
the number itself somehow tells you something about the tech level and and some but its not always correct.

f.e: Mexen are urb1103, urb1202, urb 1302

you see second number determines the tech level most time and the rest are just how they got sorted

For example the Aeon ACU is called "ual0001", the SACU is called "ual0301" and the T1 Engineer is called "ual0105".

What do these letters mean: DAL, DEA, DEL, DRA, DRL, DAA, UAB, UAL, UAS, UEA, UEB, UEL, UES, URA, URB, URL, URS, UAA, XAB, XAC, XAL, XEA, XEB, XEL, XES, XRA, XRB, XRL, XSA, XSB, XSL, XSS, XAA?

By what rule do the numbers change? For example:
UAB0301
UAB0302
UAB0303
UAB1103
UAB1104
UAB1105
UAB1202
UAB2104 ?
