thanks for this important discussion. Im on mumble all the time and you guys are basically describing what i am always thinking. imho:
1. A teamgame lives from communication in the team (i sometimes feel like playing my own thing, except from some Pings)
2. Written chat is much too timecostly, may even not be recognized and sometimes goes "to All", instead of "to allies" -> extreme ineffective, nearly unusable compared to voicechat
3. Talking to teammates helps very much in building up a COMMUNITY where people now eachother. A much more emotional connection is build up between players, when they can laugh and curse together, which is the base of some kind of acquaintance and friendship.
4. It is just so much more Fun.
I often tell people to install mumble and often tell people not to use TS etc. cause that excludes all other teammates. We need one Platform.
Maybe now the time come of something i often thought of: A Mumble Advertisement-Campaign. Some Suggestions (to be extended):
1. Every mumbleuser should preach in the gamelobbys for the Salvation by Mumble
- you know what i mean..2. Advertisement in the Client somewhere in the Findgames-Section like a Banner or s.th.
3. And I like the Idea from xx4u2NVxx, who has good Connections to Gyle?
