Yay things worked out in the end!

@Zep Don't joke about implementing lazy share....
I've always wanted that mod but I could never get it to work right. It'd be amazing if it was official and thus working proper.

kk, will do so. After you told me some mod was causing this and I foudn out it was LazyShare I reimportet my old game.prefs. So they were not lost. But then I could not override the keybidnings. Only when I let the game create a new game.prefs I could do so. So in the end I did have to get rid of game the game.prefs after all. And that was the exact solution Voodoo told us. Just that it was an issue that was kind of independend from LazyShare causing trouble in that sense, that these two did not have the same fix but probably stil the same cause - the patch. Manfet's LazyShare was causing the exact same issues I had after the patch. He made a seperate thread on that in the tech forum.

And while you had your answer & fix in 10 min in the tech forum, you've waited half a day asking other people.

So I hope next time you won't lose any time and report immediately. It's the only thing to do : The sooner I know, the sooner I can fix (and as my time is limited, it's quite important).

It's even more important when it's related to a new patch.

Also, even if other people can answer you (badly, you lost your game.prefs for nothing), it's more easy for future generations to search the tech forum than the general forum if they have the same problem.

I already explained my reason to first post in this section. I saw a lot of people complaining about issues with the patch in the main chat. As you normally don't visit the tech section to read about other people's technical issues, I found it sensible posting it hear, where the others that might have similar issues would actually see that there is a thread on this.

I thought of other people's problems and how to maybe help them fix them more quickly. Really mean of me, you are right.

First of all, what is your problem? I did nothing wrong? Unless you assume just using strong language has the sole purpose of insulting somebody? I am pissed that I have to redo all my customization, which took a lot of time to do, that is true though. But I am not attacking anyone? Do you want to forbid me to be pissed about the loss of a lot of optimization time and now the need to repeat that effort? Secondly, as you can see under my nickanme, I did contribute. Unlike you.

Lion - don't forget the amount you had to pay to get to play FAF. It's $0, unless you volunteered a donation. I find it unbelievable that you should come in and act like this is some paid product and demand support and fixes. This is a service that is provided by people in their spare time and we're lucky just to have it.

Get over it.

Well it wasn't necessary before but it is now. You should read what's new more carefully.

The reason is that many players don't want hotbuild enabled by default, most of hotbuild users have a custom layout,
Also, the thing that make it "not necessary" is also what make people lose their keybinding & stuff.

And as it takes like 1 min to rebind the keys. And if you don't want to, you can keep the mod at your own risk. No problem with that (that's why I don't get where you had the idea that you have to get rid of hotbuild).
So make it a manual operation was a no-brainer.

My prefs are not fucked. the game is fucked when my prefs file is in. And I didnt lose anything either. I just cut it out from the folder. Anyway, doing dem logs right now...

I should add that if that "prefs all fucked" issue was reported properly in tech forum, I could have solved it in the hour, and you wouldn't have lost anything.

Hotbuild : You need to bind the keys with the keybinding (F1). They are in hotbuilding & hotbuilding extra section.

GazUI : You need to enable the options you want in the option menu. All are disabled by default.
If you have kept your prefs file, that wouldn't be necessary to re-enable them by the way.
