How are they annoying. They are perfectly understandable. A cloaking field makes something invisible and stealth is a radar detection countermeasure.

Something cannot truly be undetectable until it is both stealthed AND cloaked. Which means you need an omni sensor. Seems simple to me.

Why are they annoying? Just because they are arbitrary really. They could call them radar and vision stealth to eliminate the confusion -but no, we have to remember that stealth is radar and cloak is vision.

It doesn't help that I've grown on up the term 'radar cloaking' so I personally have a lot of trouble with flipping the two in my head. Further more, I know that both are forms of EMR and you can disrupt either in fundamentally similar fashion -making the separate terms even more annoying to me. Either can be justified as cloaking or stealthing!

All other units in the game that have cloak also have stealth as well right?

Yea I think the cybran mole is the only one. One hypothetical situation may be when a cybran stealth+cloak com is out of power. Maybe only the stealth gets disabled and not the cloak. Not sure.

I don't understand what you're talking about.

If there's stealth, radar is useless (and vision reveals it anyway.)

If there's cloak, both radar and vision is useless. So no idea how vision is going to help with a mole, since my understanding is that it is cloaked.

Wrong.

Stealth and Cloaking are two separate countermeasures. Stealth defeats radar and Cloaking defeats vision. A unit which is cloaked but not stealthed will be invisible, but detectable by radar. So if you ever see a grey unknown contact in your field of vision - you know it must be cloaked. If you don't have radar, it could be right next to you and you'd never see it.

Stealth on the other hand, it to prevent long ranged contacts. It allows your units to avoid detection as they close range. But will not prevent them being targeted when seen.
