Common decency is not a military virtue. I would feign ignorance, as my map knowledge has been learnt the hard way. It is an advantage which I can use to beat my opponent.

Personally, I most dislike when new versions of maps have changed civilians or reclaim. Like the 2v2 Balvery Hills map. I'll send my engies or raiders out. Safe in my map knowledge only to - "AAAAH WTF!!! WHO PUT THAT THERE!!!". Yea. You know the feeling.

Unless ZLO's idea is implemented for 1v1v1 or bigger maps.

People are dicks. People lie.

If we can get it to flash pre-ACU spawn, this has my vote. If not, it still has my vote.

Ideally it would flash before the acus spawn.

then it is great, also why we do not have maps with random spawns in ranked :(
some thing like daroza easily can be made as random spawn map
each time i am waching StarCrap2 matches i see people forced to scout wheree opponent spawns

Maybe this is just my experience, but how often do you guys actually play a map you haven't played before? Admittedly, I can't find much time for gaming right now, but I usually don't play more than one new map a week at most. How often do you guys encounter new maps that this is a thorn in your side?

I'm a new player and I've only played 40, maybe 50 maps altogether, out of the ~130 total games. Many of which I only played once, and months ago. Playing the map for the first time was the extreme example, but remembering where the civs are on a particular map can vary from 'i think there are civs on this map' to 'i know the weakspots from which to approach the civ bases and claim them for reclaim early'.

Agreed that its a problem for random spawns, even if such 'flashing' would only take 0.001 sec, you could still see it in one of the frames rendered : ) How often though do people play random spawn games?

It's a major deterrent to trying new maps (for me at least). It's not feasible to know every map that might be up at a given time -so practice isn't the solution. So if there is a map I've never played being hosted, I can't join unless I wanna lose to someone that knows the map.

Simple, minimal impact, lowers the skill floor in a good way.

It's probably more a"this is so minor as to be not worth my time, if you care so much, do it yourself" kind of situation, I would bet.

See, this doesn't make sense. Why would the buildings be detectable without any sort of scouting or anything, but not the units? What's the rationale there?

asking in chat seems like a waste of time: first of all the opponent might not reply, secondly the explanation might be difficult to perform. Precise locations of PDs are very relevant as well, as well as the amount of reclaim (which usually can be determined from the type of buildings present).

Is there some particular reason why everyone being able to see all the civ buildings from the beginning of the map is a bad idea? Other than "i've learned this while playing the map already, and I want others to have to learn it before they can enjoy the map as well so that its 'fair' '
