The engy mod is designed with the goal to have more than one viable method to build high tier units (One T3 factory with 100 T1 engies around it). This is done by putting in two different types of factories: A cheap one that you build several times once you have a main (More expensive) one to truly unlock the higher tier.

Factories can be upgraded in two types:

-HQ
-Standard

You have to upgrade one factory to T2 HQ (or T3 HQ) first, before you can upgrade to T2 Standard (T3 Standard respectively).

-The HQ upgrade is more expensive than the Standard Upgrade
-The HQ factories have more HP than the Standard factories.
-No Standard factory of any kind can be upgraded to any kind of HQ factory. So if you are at the T2 stage and want to go to T3, you have to have a T2 HQ factory for the transition.

For as far as I know, both have the same amount of Build Power.

Note that you don't HAVE to do this, you can still go with one HQ factory surrounded by 100 engineers if you want to build higher tier units that way. Both options are viable, is the goal of the mod.

Can anyone either point me to a thread describing the changes, or just describe the changes? I haven't adapted my playing style much since it's release (it is in place as the default in Forged Alliance Forever right?).
