Nice julo ,just keep bring the work .
All the options likes/dislikes will make us get the conclusion off what fits bether on faf...
I like FAF has has it is....simple.

I hate the Starcraft style glow.

Iff we mix too mush can get out range.
But iff we swap a bit to new ideas well might work well, so show us your thoughts and test works....

I like the enthusiams. Only, I don't understand the goal behind it. Imho currently, there is a very nice and slick logo in place. The first "join us" image is not a logo. Imo it is hard to read and has no stylistic reference to the game whatsoever.
The logo by Julo is hard to recognize as FAF as well (at least for me). Julo, have you tested it? Have you shown it to random people and asked what they see? I have a hard time recognizing the "A". Thats why I am not a big fan of it (takes me too much effort to decypher it). Also, I do not understand why there is a pyramid in the center. What reference to the game did you have in mind with it? Finally, making it red results in putting an emphasis on Cybrans - but again, that is only how I "experience" the logo.
I got used to the current banner. However, it probably could need some brush-up. The logo definitely is missing there and the image itselfs doesn't seem to be FAF related (or is it just wrecks from SC2?).

However it doesn't "look" supreme commander to me, I don't see the link. More I like a pub sign that fell on the ground on a rainy night

If anything, the art déco touch would make it belong more to "bioshock" than a sci-fi game, imho

I like the CI idea. This should happen. I wouldn't call the FAF look and feel unappealing but it could do with a dose of professional design. It's not just cosmetic either - we are talking about the perception of potential new players ... they come and see some mod site ... I want them to come and see a pro game.

I'm not a massive fan of the starcraft site but you feel like you have landed at a page that is 'the real deal' and not some fan site or something.

hi,

what I was getting at is that there is no faf logo shown in very important spots.

IMHO FAF has a very unappealing look, it has no "Corporate Identity" (I hate that word but you know what I mean?).
There is much potential to give an awesome project an awesome look and there are several people willing to contribute, thats why I started this thread!

I understand that you dont want to change the logo, I was just frustrated after investing many hours into my drafts and receiving no feedback from you

Who said that?

I'm just pointing out that what you call "The icon" is the logo, and what you call "the logo" is a banner.

I don't really want to change the logo again.

i know its not the actual logo but thats what ppl see when they use the website/forums/client.
