I like think the one with the Monkeylord inside looks awsome, but for a Logo i think it is better without
a Unit inside and just text.

It looks nice. The two 'f's nearly look like winged military badges, like this:

Maybe we could deliberately make a military badge like that, out of the shape of the letters FAF

Only problem is its for air force but I'm willing to overlook that

A competition seems like a good idea.
FAF got at least 3 great designers by now.

The twisted stripes are probably not compatible with the logos straight lines, but I would create a new 3D animation anyways.

hey!

Well done! I like the shape! The textures/glow effects look slightly unprofessional IMHO.

The best way to create a logo is to create a clean, scalable vecor shape and optimize it to perfection - after that the effects/backgrounds can be added.
It is important the logo still can be recognized even when scaled down to icon size.
Also the full name should be clean, the text under the black on white logo has a very weird gradient, cutting off the beginning and end of the text when scaled down.

A logo competition is a good idea, only thing I am worried is - how many entries will there be? Until now it would be two - do you think there would be more ppl entering their drafts?

I think putting the FAF logo with the dot in the A would be a great thing to put in the loading screen.

Plus... just a thought... maybe it could create some ideas for the nomad loading screen... just saying...

by the way we could take advantage to change the match loading screen which is old as f*** and put 4 different kinds of this logo indicating the race you are going to play

I love the video!

However getting units + FAF in the ring will probably not be good once it will have the size of a desktop icon.
I prefered the only-FAF-written with light/fire effects

I've two comments to make.

1: The best logo so far is the one with the Red Monkeylord and FAF in a circle. Of the two, the FAF WITH the dot is better in my opinion, because the dot somehow makes it more easily recognisable as an 'A'. Don't ask why, that's just how it feels when I look at both. The reason this is the best is because in red, it stands out, the circle gives it a defined boundary, and because the Monkeylord is the instantly recognisable unit of Supreme Commander. This logo intimately links the game itself with the FAF letters. It instantly tells new people exactly what game this is for, because despite a low playerbase, a lot of people know which game that shape is from.

2: The diagonal back to front FAF thing is definitely the best way of putting those three letters together in a distinctive manner. I would, however, lengthen the stalk on each 'F', pushing the line slightly close to the top line, which in my mind would make it look more like an 'F' than it currently does. Make the gap between the middle and the top the same as between the stalk and the 'A'. I think the fact that it currently isn't uniform comes into my dislike, here.
