Are you sure there are traffic jams with a 2-4 t1 engys assisting a single T2 engy? I thought this only happened with 20 t1+ engys assisting a land fac?

yes. They will bump each other while on the way to the buildplace, they will eventually walk on the build place, and need to get off it etc. It doesn't happen always, and if you put time into it and micro, it won't ever happen. It happens from 2 engies up, 20 will actually build slower then 10 more often then not, depending on what you build.

iirc, the reference test were 1 t2 and 4 t1 engys making point defences, and they lose about 50% net time to pathfinding, thus a 50% buildtime increase for t2 PDs, and everything with same buildtime. Don't nail me down on exact numbers, i did a lot tests and might confuse something, but it should be this or close.

To get the correct buildtime increase for the TML it should use the same formula we used for everything else.

Cybran shields are weak and cheap (160 mass) but are expensive to run. To match other factions t2 shields multiple shields are required.

I still think all factions TMD build time should be reduced to 500. TML build time needs a 30-40% increase too.

Previously:

TMD build time 400
T2 engy: takes 400/10 = 40 secs to build
T2 comm: takes 400/30 = 13.3 secs to build

Now:

TMD build time 600
T2 engy: takes 600/12.5 = 48 secs to build
T2 comm: takes 600/42 = 14.3 secs to build

Before engymod, you would use one t2 and some t1 engys to build it. This created pathfinding troubles, increasing the net buildtime above 40 secs, to a real buildtime of ~48 secs. Since the buildtime of the TMD is quite low, the pathfinding net increase is quite high compared to the initial buildtime.

The included pathfinding is the reason why the BT changes were done in the first place, and why the new buildtimes look a bit strange if you don't take the pathfinding into account. It rewards using more t2 engys for t2 buildings a little.

However this should apply to the TML aswell. Looks like a bug that it didn't.

Previously:

TMD build time 400

Since TML build time remains unchanged, it is much faster to build in the new FAF (eg. ~30% faster for a T2 comm to build one)

This was the conclusion (from Pip):

Reducing the number of splitted projectiles would really affect the feature itself, I'm not sure it's the best idea. I believe what makes the splitted missiles OP is the fact that they fly 2 times faster than the parent missile:
Parent missile initial speed = 3, acceleration = 3, max speed = 12
Splitted missile initial speed = 2, acceleration = 15, max speed = 25

That's why the TMD almost never have time to shoot at the splitted missiles.

I believe that reducing the acceleration and max speed of the splitted missiles will make them easier to counter without removing the feature.

Proposed: acceleration = 2, max speed = 8 (so max speed is reached in three seconds -> speed = 2,4,6,8)

This should help a single TMD shoot down at least 1-2 of the split missiles.

Also the damage per split missile should be reduced from 800 to 400 or less.

Guess we need somebody to test this...
