Yes it does. 90% "good" players around learned like that.

There might be no vault for FAF, but GR still exist ;).

Yep, thanks for proving the point. Thing is there are already so many established players its hard to get your foot in the door so why slam it on them. Why not help more players improve so there is more competition. The community is too small that the number of games to join are limited and to limit that further makes it nigh on impossible to get games. I think we owe it to others to help them improve, Ive had some good players help me ( didnt work but they tried). But then slating noobs is more fun and easier. Players like you are exactly the reason a lot of players leave. I will be honest, you should have a good introspective look at yourself and your attitude as it is of absolutely no use to FAF.

We should really be getting behind new players and encouraging them not chasing them away, abusing them and being rude to them.

I just want to say that after not playing Supreme Commander for years, apon my return I am disgusted at the general treatment of noobs by this community. I have received no end of scorn, random kicks from games and useless advice such as "join a noobs game". I feel that so many people playing this game are out of touch with the process of learning to play it (a veritable learning cliff) or are so self centred and narcissitic that they treat the newcomers like trash and scare them off. Do these people realise that those noobs are the only hope for this games future or do they want to keep farting around with their elitist friends and watch as the numbers dwindle down to nothing due to attrition.
Honestly, I don't know how much more I can bother trying to play this game again if I keep watching the same people do the same dumb things and act as if its fine.

It's unfortunate that some people are like that, but I try to play along-side noobs in circumstances like that whenever I can. Most of those "pros" don't mind bashing a team of me and some noobs... and at least the noobs get a chance to play.

Another issue that has come up over the past week is that good players tell new players to host noob games if they want to learn. That's fine and dandy when 50 people are searching for games, but after Europe goes to bed (7-8PM USA time) there usually are like 5 in the WHOLE WORLD. These guys deserve to be included in whatever games are available and I'd ask people to be more accommodating than a random kick at best, or flaming them at worst.

One possible solution is to enable death share on games with a newbie outlier. Then when they inevitably get stomped they won't automatically lose the game for the team.

I'm just throwing ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks.

All of those are fantastic guides that I highly recommend to anyone wishing to learn more about the game.

If you would like training, feel free to PM me and I'll be more than happy to help. :)

I started playing FA a year ago but only recently started playing on FAF.

It is hard to keep playing when your first online game, is a complete fail.
That's bad.

But Maverick's comments on chat and in game are not very motivational. Getting kicked because you have <1000 points isn't exactly the way to learn this awesome game.
And it is not only maverick (he is just the only one who can't stop whining about it).

maybe in every game 2 noobs, one in each team? or 3pro +1noob vs 3pro ? (I know, 7 players are not ideal...just ideas :p)

In my opinion there is not enough info about how to play, or tactics. (if I'am wrong, pls post the site :p)
you can watch replays, but when you don't know where to look it is pointless.

Currently Praisegugleourmaster, on youtube, does great job on learning people how to play.

however :p It is nice to hear there are people who are willing to teach noobs.

I don't mind Maverick, for example (I find him funny), but it will be considered bad behavior once one guy will feel offended.
So, be "rude" at your own risk.

You can PM, with screenshots, if you find something inappropriate.
