The spikes are the start of each new ladder season.

I don't see any particular increase since the message, it's consistent with the increase of new players. (but it's good that new players are interested in 1v1).

A bit hard to compare, as back in GPGnet there was a replay-dialog which asks if you want to save the replay or not.

However, all in all the GPGnet replay Vault stored Replays from 66.394 unique Playernames.
Total replays are counting...and counting...
All in all: 1,753,455 Files in it (guessing all replays, I wont check every file )

As the number of replays in FAF grow somehow exponential, it shouldnt be a long time to reach that number.
