Battles are rarely epic, and most of the times the epicness is one-sided.
True. In order for there to be a truly epic game there needs to be counter-play, to counter-play, to counter-play. It is like two gunmen firing at exactly at the same time and shooting eachothers bullet out of the air. That is how rare an epic game is.

Usually, plays are so decisive that they result in devastating results for one player or the other. The tipping points in FAF are so extreme that a player will rarely get a chance at redemption. When you think about it, it is that decisivness which brings importance to the action... I think you will find it is exactly this "knife edge" which makes the game so exciting to play.

You should also let go of the expectation that you will have an epic fight. The tipping points are far to drastic for that. Even in an evenly matched game. Minor tactical advantages will still yield victory to one player over another. A standard 1v1 will be decided in the first 20 minutes. If it is really drawn out, it may go for 30 or 40 minutes. But this should not be expected to happen often. It is what happens in those critical first minutes that decides the game. It is rare to see tipping points in the late game.

But beaten you should be, if you are to become better!

Until you get to around 1k, people will always do stupid things, don't take it so seriously. Few people become 'good' or even okay before 50 games.

-Cybran T2 "Transport ACU kamikaze" (While enemies had omni & t3 fighters) (Rating of player: 500)

-Superturtles (Never produce any units, just PD and shields at spawn. Czar took this dude out) (300)

-Over extenders (You just got sniped kid, polar opposite of superturtles) (700)

Every ranked game I join has at least one person trying these tactics...

Went from 270 -> -46 tonight.

Love some players of this game <3

Are there any lobbies that offer UNRANKED help for newer players? I just feel that playing with players like this is tanking my rating. I admit that my first 10 or so games were crazy hard, and learning all of this new stuff isn't easy. (Been playing for 2 years found out about this project one month ago) But going into my 20th game or so, things are looking bleek. I understand how to make a good eco, and how to play different positions on most maps, but getting into a balanced game is hard as hell with such a small community.
