Something along the same lines but, not streamed has been in the back of my mind for a year+ now.
Something like a weekly or a biweekly show that would have segments coming from different contributors.
Example: Someone does a recap of tourneys like wwpc, recap of ladder standings/global rating standings. Highlights from top player games, links to casts from that time period, new of upcoming tourneys, regular segments talking about strategies, regular segments about build orders.
This could vary from week to week and each segment should not be longer than a few minutes.
For me the problem has always been time, to put all this together, but I would be glad to contribute to these segments, if someone wants to take over the organization part. Editing and uploading, etc.

The thing is, even tho I listed all those headings, it doesn't need to be prepared pieces. If everything was pre-prepared segments, it might as be youtube videos, not be a cast. All we need is some topics, GW development, current balance etc, and let the guys talk. The thing that makes casts so great is the real time conversation-joking and back and forth, that you just dont get with forums or even in chat. If you just had some of the top community members / players in a group Skype call, all you need is a host / hosts to keep a rough schedule of talking points and let them go. Just like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7TeDpyqpz0

It would be nice if certain people were present for certain segments, like some top ladder guys for balance - current strategy talk to answer questions / talking points from the chat, or FAF staff to talk about GW development, but again its just talking points to get the conversation going. At their best casts are like a group of friends just shooting the shit, but still getting into the issues.

Just a heads up about dual commentating.

It's impossible unless your doing it live. The computers get hideously outofsynchronisation and it devolved into technical issues.

That being said. This is great idea

I can vouch for this, it's extremely difficult.

an even better idea would be to put somebody on twitch, who can show what the casters are talking about. e.g. the forum thread, the game they are analyzing, show the changes in the latest patch, GW, or a best of casts on youtube...
but please upload it not only to twitch but save it to your hard drive as well (this is easy, if you use the software "open broadcaster software"). this way you can upload the high quality version to youtube.

the best idea would be to produce a show like that with an irregular time table, but record everything, edit it and upload it to youtube. (e.g. like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBl1fwEpsLQ but as a podast). this way you can cut out boring moments and you can eliminate the lag (between you and your twitch stream reaching the guys, who comment on it). i would like to see a cast with 2 or 3 people talking instead of just one! maybe these casters can talk not only about one single game, but about all FAF related things (the casters should "faf around").
