Reclaim.

Dont float mass but dont que enough that you stall.

So sorry If I don't execute build orders perfectly or don't know the rate of fire of that unit, or my economy is handled in a crude way, because I only like to be so good as my reflexes, and overall experience allow. IF i come across an extraordinary situation and a weird strategy, then my curiosity may drive me to research the matter a little more, but not for long.

My friend Mondaymoonlight, play the game, enjoy its variety and nuances and leave aside such meaningless notions as noobness, pro ness, ownage and best strategy or bad strategy. See them with a lightness in heart and joyful mind, and I am sure that suddenly many things will make sense to you.

So I've noticed this with a few others like me, who stick with this game even though the games deeper mechanics remain a mystery and are considered permanent noobs. I for one am getting sick and tired of the only advice given is to watch a replay. I've watched replays and they have really warn out there usefulness long ago. For about the 200-300 games I've played basically the same game despite my best efforts. Attacking and building my resources up to building bigger and better things seems to be the goal. I have all the wonderful ideas for dynamic attacks but I never have the resources to carry them out. I've been told I build too many upgrades, while that's fine for some games others I''ll face t2 and not have the resources to counter...

Watching replays is not useful unless you know what you are looking for. You need to learn how to study a replay. Critical things to look for are wasted time, enemy units going undetected, wasted resources, tech and eco progression rates. Then look at key battles, unit compositions and kill ratios. Try to identify what I would call, "turning points", within the game. Be on the lookout for key moments which give the upper hand and especially identify when your opponent changes tactics.

From the sound of your comment, you seem like a player who has a one track tactical mindset. You seem focused on your own strategy instead of understanding and adapting to your opponent. If your can't see the implications from a replay after the game, then it is also likely that you wont fully comprehend scouting and intelligence data during it. I would suggest you learn to read your opponent.

If you're not comprehending your opponents actions, then you don't have the full picture. The outcome of the game wont meet your expectations if you don't have all the information.

No Sup Com game follows any procedure really, it is a question of following a gut feeling, gamble on a strategy,

True, but only if you dont scout :)
But scouting itself doesnt make any difference, unless you watch your scouts and make use of the intel you got.

I found that once I got to 500 games I started remembering to do things a lot more. Like "remember to build air" and "remember to begin power spam early" and "remember to upgrade mexes" and micro things like now if I drop engineers on islands 8 times out of 10 I remember that I have dropped them even when I am doing something else in the meantime and I have those engineers building stuff within about a minute of them being dropped. Another thing is queing orders. Before I would queue some orders for my com and then have to wait until things happened before I queued more orders and therefore used to forget to queue those more orders. Now I queue up some orders and actually remember when those orders are going to run out and queue up some more before they do run out. Before I reached this level forgetting to do things was what was crippling my game, not lack of reclaim, not lack of watching replays, not lack of taking my com to the front, none of those things, but my own forgetfulness.
