Things to remember -> As ZeP said, the reload time is freaking huge. 10 seconds if I am not mistaken. So any pass made during the reload time will fail. The other thing that hinders it is that it has to drop the bomb from a fairly good ways away, and it is related to speed... I can't give you exact details as I have a hard time explaining it. What can happen though in some situations is if you are flying and choose a target to one side, the bomber will turn to target and either (1) think it is far enough away to target but is actually not or (2) think it is too far away when it is actually at the correct distance. Then you get locked in this infinite loop of bad passes. I have seriously left a bomber doing this just to see and it made 7 passes and dropped one bomb.
How to fix this -> PRACTICE!!! Go into a sandbox game, build/spawn one, and then just use it until you figure it out.
My tactics -> Full manual control. I put it on ground fire and manually target a spot to kill what I want. I use move orders to move it to the right places and swing wide. Also, I never hit the same spot twice in a row. I keep it flying in either a straight line or a smooth arc and hit targets along the way. Ground target, watch the bomber, and when the bomb leaves the plane just issue a new move order somewhere out in front to keep if flying at full speed. One other thing to remember is that when the bomber is at max speed it throws the bomb from a huge distance. If you full-stall the plane and then reverse right after you drop, you can hit a defended base without ever getting close enough for the AA to engage fully.Statistics: Posted by BRNKoINSANITY — 06 Apr 2013, 00:17
