Umm. I think ZeP can determine his priorities well enough on his own. Don't you? ;)

Helpful but not at the same time. XD

Makes me laugh though so it's all good.

Imo we should either
a) have a poll whether the community wants vetos
or
b) ask for it to be implemented as soon as possible, since i guess 60-70% of the active community is in favour of such a system.

Anyway you can say what you want .... In ladder i often meet people complaining about some maps or i read about people not laddering because of some maps....

Veto is not a "I CAN'T PLAY this game please help me thing" , rather a "let me vote for what I don't like so that my ladder experience is more enjoyable" !!!!!! The mappool is so big we can afford veto , if it's technically possible.

Unfortunately Ze_pilot did not express himself because he's not interested in this.

There are just too many maps in the pool. You have to dedicate a serious amount of hours to learn that many. If there were more like 10 maps we'd have a chance to learn the ones we don't like we'll enough to become competent. At the moment unless you play 50 hours a month you'll never really get comfortable. Not everybody can or wants to play this game enough to learn that many maps. And knowing the maps reclaim and popular strategies is an enormous advantage. I copy builds from high ranked players I've seen in commentaries all the time. I don't do them a fraction as well but it means I play 3 times better than if I was just working it out myself.

Well, you are right in many aspects, mainly in that some maps are best known by your opponents for whatever reason, so a possible match between you and me would not be a demonstration of skill but rather that of experience.

This is why(and with all due respect) I think that having as many maps as possible is better for someone with not much free time to learn all of them. I would go one step further to suggest that the ultimate challenge would be to not play in an explored map from the beginning. If this cannot be somehow applied by a future patch, I would suggest to add to the map pool every possible balanced map from 5x5 to 20x20. How about 100 maps or 200 maps for that matter? Your tedious build order, would no more have any meaning, but your actual survival skills.

And... I know I am a SupCom fanatic, but really "like in starcraft?". The only real reasons the starcraft game is more successful is because it is older(old enough to win the heart and the mind of a whole nation) and because it is funded better and pays better! It would be a huge mistake for SupCom to adapt to the notions of a more primitive game. It should normally set the paradigm not follow it.

it's ranked, not fun game (basicly) so you have to play the maps you get, if you want to select maps you have to play custom games

Actually every professional competition uses a veto system.
I'm in favor of a veto system, especially with the random weird mappool we currently have.
