You are right to say this is not the same. Veterancy is perfectly intended and necessary to prevent players from spamming t1 during the whole game. This brings something to gameplay.. Also it is a feature which can be learnt in solo and which is mentioned in all good guides.

I don't know if you noticed, but super lag aside, usually the units go where you tell them to go. If you send a swarm of scouts at a monkey, they will .... Same same.
If you micro the asf to avoid the beam they won't fly into it. as simple as that.

The units don't think for you, you are the Supreme Commander, it's YOUR job to guide them. If you fail at this, you lose and are a lousy Supreme Commander and deserve the loss.

He noticed it because this is the whole problem.

You can't guess it will happen before you see it once. And this is as much absurd as if the pathfinding sent a land unit suiciding under water.

All the air in FA, from T1 to XP, is about micro tricks. I don't see why a single unit should behave differently.

Or we remove ALL the micro from air (under the argument that a 100 ASF cloud should not be beaten by a 60 or 70 one).

Wait you got me wrong. I didn't say remove it (I need it to shine ffs haha), just that too many can't be arsed to do it or learn the how to, then cry.

Every single time there's a "new" big stuff discovered, or just made main stream, you get this "OP" bla bla because people need to adjust or just add some variables to the gameplay equation in their mind.

I agree on this point.. the question is to know if this diversity justify such a stupid fact that seing asfs suicinding into a beam due to a bad trajectory. I would answer "no" but that is subjective.

The feature of the beam dealing damages to all kinds of units is cool
The feature of the asf flying right into the beam is ridiculous.

We're not changing it because it is an interesting feature and it doesn't ruin balance in game.

You're right about eco ...
But the things should be realistic ...
If you are an ASF pilot i'm not sure you will flight into the beam and say at radio to all your friend " Hey it's fun, come in and die with me"

And about micro : it change nothing / if we send 4 group of 20 asf they die the same way ... so ?
And there is no frustration here ... we won the game whatever.

The goal is to make the gameplay better. Not to cry or to say "they are lazy players and bla bla" please be adults.

All this said perhaps there is nothing to do because of physics engine of game ... as said Ze that had a trrue and nice answer. Thx to him.

Look game replay n° 453347 near the end and you will see this ... dozens of asf dying instantly on czar ... really unreal !

If you want a game without micro, I recommend Chess.

I did not say the problem was that there was no counter to the czar.
I sayed that it was highly unexpected to see asfs going automaticly by themselves in the beam of the czar. It is like if your hoplites were moving themselves to catch arty projectiles..
This is illogical ,ridiculous, frustrating when you are not aware of this """""feature""""" and it brings nothing to the gameplay : That is what I sayed.
Then if you let this feature, you should create a tutorial named " why I can't use the attack order to attack an air unit with my anti air units" :s

And about the asfs having to go twice in the beam to die : they loose 90% of their ealth after the first passage and the anti air weapon of the czar(the one which is not the beam..) finishs them very fastly. The czar is often 5 vet and fully regenerated before the few asfs which survived can attack again.
