pretty sure it does.

It really doesn't matter though. I mean if you can zoom in and out on both sides this has practical applications.

and as someone who struggled with this initially I can tell you it's pretty easy to bend your muscle memory to leave the right one (or whichever one you end up choosing) unzoomed. (although zooming both ports is really useful at times)

otherwise your need is so specific it applies to only you and you'll have to make your own ui mod.

i don't get what you want

OK. Imagine all the little windows and ui elements are hidden. If you zoom all the way out, the strategic view is in the middle of the screen. I want to be able to move that midpoint around the screen. The reason for this is that the maximap  is dividing the screen non-evenly when it's visible. So it gets in the way of zooming in and out and I have to make extra effort to center what I want to view close up in the visible area. I just want the strategic view to organically follow the real estate I've made available to it - almost as if the whole lot was a docked interface with no sub-windows.

I have tried the split screen function but it does not allow one half to be cartographic - this has the side effect that I get bogged down and unthinkingly mix up which side needs zooming - I automatically scroll where my eyes are following and I don't think it's a habit that I can alter at this point. It's already a bit of a pain that the minimap is zoomable but that is mostly negated by the fact that it looks very different.

What would work is disabling mouse zoom on one half of the split screen, but I've asked before and apparently it's not practically workable.

A picture is worth a thousand words, as the saying goes. Without further ado, instead of this:

a.png

... I want this:

b.png

And the zooming midpoint must follow suit. This allows me to comfortably run a much larger minimap + chat without the them getting in the way of zooming and navigating the strategic map.

Thanks in advance!
Rhianne
