You are missing the point: As of now there is literally no use for the teleport at all. No one ever upgrades it for good reasons. I's a fundamentally broken upgrade => either remove it or make it relevant.

I rather UEF ACU stay the same.

It is NOT that UEF = defensive.

UEF = builder

Atlantis, FatBoy, Kennel, Field Engineer, Assist Drone.

Aeon is more defensive. ACU with high shield, T3 Shield has the most shield point, Colossus is the second most durable Experimental units in the game and only 10k lower than Megalith but is cheaper and faster to build than Megalith.

But as already said, Aeon and UEF ACU are ill-suit for frontline. They are best used as resource generator or builder back at home.

No need to give UEF ACU both the shield and teleport, i don't want the unique of each faction to be further dilute by unnecessary change.

Just because 1 faction can do this does not mean the other have to.

Of course it would die - just a matter of time.

We can already teleport (multiple!) SACU and those can cause MASSIVE havoc. Giving the UEF ACU shield + teleport wouldn't be anything fundamentally new but it would make getting the teleport upgrade a more viable option. In addition: it would be for late game only and usually people have enough pd in their bases to counter such attacks.
no need to give cybran t2 or t3 status with laser - the idea of cybran is: paper acu with op attack power - he gets shit done quickly or not at all. uef would be the opposite: beefy acu with rather weak attack power.

It must be at least 3 years ago that i proposed some kind of t4 engi-suit with 300 bp (whatever exactly) for the uef acu. exactly to fit that indirect (or "defensive" as you call it) assault role in opposite to the cybran telemazer. Purpose: tele in near of enemy base and build a proxy base, build tml or maybe creep in with ravs and sams.

a strong shield might be also be interesting way to make uef tele useful.

i used the uef tele acu once on mezmerizing paradise to tele on all enemy islands: grab mexes, build some sams -> next island. was fun but not very efficient i guess.

OP only said that it should be possible to obtain both upgrades. He did not suggest a mechanic for making that happen.

You could also move either the teleporter or shield upgrade to an arm. Or add a fourth upgrade slot to the ACUs.

I thought I was contributing to the conversation by suggesting, from a technical standpoint, a simple way to bring about what OP is suggesting.

You could re-arrange the upgrades such that teleporter is the third stage of the shield upgrade. Since teleport is so expensive I doubt that people would mind paying for shields first. The ACUs still wouldn't have the same kind of firepower as Mazer or Splash ACUs so I don't think it breaks the game. It would just even things out a bit.

While I agree the UEF teleport is really only suited for memes/stealth tml base, I don't think even giving it shield + teleport would be all that useful. It is a shame, though, that only seraphim and cybran can teleport offensively, where as with aeon and UEF, the most offensive thing you can do is build a stealth field and make a proxy. On the other hand, this game doesnt need more cancer scenarios like a paragon getting tele-mazered.
