Hello, in today's discussion, I will be talking about the FAF Moderation team and talk about it in an analytical point of view.

So before you guys discuss of anything you might be interested in knowing what motives there are behind that post.
After having been warned kicked and banned many times (and i'm not talking about "mistakes in the past", i'm talking about recent stuff, like last few days/weeks), engaging in a toxic and/or harmful behavior on discord and on FAF aswell, harassment in PMs, antagonizing the mods and other persons in public, randomly pinging other people for no reasons in a repeated manner - Syndicus eventually got his permanent ban from the discord community.

Shortly after that, instead of questioning what might have led to this ban, Syndicus renamed as "anonymous" on discord and sent me PMs that we were the "worst moderators on FAF" because we were power abusing.
I don't expect anything productive to come out of this thread looking on how much defamation and hypocrisy the original post is built, so I will be prone to lock it if the second it goes off-road.

Losing a game, and out of rage, banning that said player. Completely unacceptable.

This was reported to happen over 2 years ago (before I was even active in FAF) and was immediately put to an end - and as I presume that you gather this from might-have-heards that other players communicated to you, you probably shouldnt bring it up given how your "mistakes of the past" are literally hours away from us.

Recommended: If the Community comes to a consensus with multiple reports to remove a person from a role that can be replaced by any other member in the community, the Councilors should look into the rebuke and come out with a solution. This would help moderate the Moderation team, and make sure its members are doing the right thing at all times.

We do have a councilor that is here precisely for that, so there is accountability for moderator actions. You know, the one you've pinged all the time on the discord before getting your ban, often for no reason, most of the time to provoke him.
You might want to make sure that your motives really are about helping the community (and not about your personal self) before messaging him to ask for accountability.
Gorton is very active and I'm sure he will love to hear you out, and answer.

Well some of the mods are teenagers, so you can see why there would be not that much professionalism.

That is only my opinion, but I think that having let Syndicus spill his trash on our official discord for so long before banning him permanently is the only mistake that we did regarding his case. To many extents, I feel like we've been once again, much too lenient with this kind of unacceptable behavior.

I find that somewhat amusing :D I was under the impression that, considering how old this game is by now, there are adults here with a certain minimal moral and behavioural standard.

As a Mod you have to try to be more balanced, I agree. You have some previleges in the forum and in the community so you should be truthful and not abuse your "power". Like uncle Ben said: "With great power comes great responsibility" ;)

Lack of Professionalism. Just like at any job, you have to be professional, and that is just like a FAF role, you must maintain that. Threats shouldn't be spewing through dialogue in the FAF discord, from a Mod to another player. Remember, this is a player based community. IN GAME: There should not be ANY punishments when a Mod plays with a player that has won a game. Example- Losing a game, and out of rage, banning that said player. Completely unacceptable. NOW, if that said player was sending toxic dialogue, then punishment is acceptable, must provide evidence (replay, snapshot etc..)

Contact: In my personal opinion if you have a FAF Mod Role, you shouldn't have a casual conversation with the people in the discord server that involves bantering, this would help avoid having different views of a conversation and maintain moderation according to the TOS.

Recommended: If the Community comes to a consensus with multiple reports to remove a person from a role that can be replaced by any other member in the community, the Councilors should look into the rebuke and come out with a solution. This would help moderate the Moderation team, and make sure its members are doing the right thing at all times.

Feel free to suggest more.

Miscellaneous: If a said person is banned from the game or FAF discord, they should not have the ability to report something taken away.

- All issues stated have been done in the past. -

p.s. Yes I may have done some mistakes in the past, but that doesn't take away from the fact that these issues were ongoing before mine.
