Before I start you should know that I'm a cybran fag as in I only play cybran
random master race
Cybrans, being cucked, have 0 floating units and the only way to deal with them is to build frigates which are expensive to spam early and require a lot of micro to not get blown by t1 floating arty.
that's a pretty grug way of thinking about it, you also have air, your commander, and depending on the map (as FtX said) your basic units too. Don't blame your faction.
Also if your opponent predicts that you will go for early navy he could also rush it and crush you with his floating units
Unfortunate news flash is that when people actually start playing around you, trying to deny your options to counter hover will be the norm. also, early navy to counter hover especially on maps like high noon are often all in's that require map knowledge which you might not have. That issue is compounded when your opponent knows how to go all in with his commander and hover too.
Air is often a safer route, but that doesn't mean to make one factory and hope for the best, you need to sacrifice tank production (which you shouldn't be making on a navy map anyway) and spend far more mass on air than your opponent to both A: defeat his air and then B: shut down the hover.
That's not all bad news for you though, which such a huge air investment you have rendered his hover a waste of mass, and threaten anything on the map that he hasn't covered in anti air, which as you might guess already, costs mass too.
or just completely surrender navy and crush you on land when you have poured all of your mass in frigates.
If you have the water under your control, you shouldn't be spending mass on frigates. convert your uncontested victory into something that can do big damage, for cybran especially you would be looking at destroyers that can threaten eco and etc. If you were playing another faction, missile cruisers would be better.Statistics: Posted by biass — 18 Jun 2019, 09:48
