The other half kind of relies on the Supcom fan series of novels which in my opinion might as well be canon.
It also conveniently provides a better explanation than some wishful thinking on the part of a 14 year old autist who just wants to scream 'deus vult' while playing UEF.

I thought Christans go with UEF, little support drones .. little support altar boys.
Aeon strikes me more as Buddhism, that nice peaceful, hopeful green faction colour and all.
Seraphim's gotta be muslims with their conquer/rush upgrades.
Cybran is a hard one, people playing alot of cybran often are very creative, vicous and smart, so i'd go with zionist jews.
