I think you-tube's algorithm bases it on how fast it grows initially, number of comments, likes, and subs.
I don't do it for that. Mainly, the goal is to grow the FAF community. I figured the only way to do so is to increase the amount of professional looking content on the platform.

But, for now. I would suggest you share it with as many people as possible. Hopefully the snowball effect will work enough to get more players here.

I completely agree. I was going to make it a sort of memberberry video on it. But ya, I should promote something that's actually going to happen lol

I'd be very wary about hyping anything not already in the game.

You can call me pessimist but the reality is those things are as good as dead before people actually get to play them. You're just going to hype people for something that doesn't work and might never work. All that leads to is disappointment.

yeah that's about it though the more than a year part sound a bit stretched to me. the whole thing is downlord's idea and I don't feel like he first told me about it (which is to say random spitballing not a single line of ICE code had been written AFAIK) that long ago .

and there was slowdown because it had to be redone from scratch in C++ (redoing something from scratch is a butt-ton of work) so that explains part of the time. but I'm pretty confident in downlord that it get to a working state soon™

and considering it's now in C++ it's going to be the most shiny and chrome thing we've ever witnessed here on FAF.

@Medicraze : I'm no ICE expert and you don't need to be, basically it's what would take over connecting the game to the internet and the players to each other.

it will allow FAF to compare to modern games' user-expericence in terms of connectivity.

have you ever had to port-forward any modern game? firewall edits?

well there you have it. same for when you run FAF's FA.

issues connecting several people to FAF under the same router? (LAN parties)

Sure I wanna point out more connectivity issues we currently have and say it'll fix those too but I'll stop here because I'm really no expert and I may say something wrong but I'm pretty confident about the above.

@Downlord would be the best to ask.

It's really sad how little maps are played when there's all the adaptive cookienoob maps, Maridia, drunken dance, insanity rising, etc etc etc

Your video spotlight for maps over the poster on what's new would be really cool.

If you went over very general meta and showed some awesome gameplay of each map you would be the hero we need.

Galactic war is awesome. There's talk of having 2v2 ladder, but I think a 2v2/1v1 galactic war would be pretty awesome too. But, yes. This is on the list.
