For those who are calling for longer and harsher sentences, that is all fine until its you who is under the hammer. Our goal here is not to "seek justice" so to speak so that those hurt by the smurfs see some sort of revenge (that has been shown to be ineffective anyway, especially when the damages to their rating are not returned), but to ensure that FAF is a positive environment for everyone. Especially given how hard it is to draw a line between one offense and another, and how many edge cases there are. All those threads about unfair mod action are caused by exactly the sort of sentences which are too harsh, and that doesn't make things better.

Anyway, thank you bestsantaeu for coming forward to us and we hope to see you enjoy FAF in the future!

Kind regards, the moderation team

hows that for capitalizing sentonses mozy? <3

And to be honest, from my perspective it doesn't even matter if i get a 4 day ban or a month, i'll accept whatever you guys deem appropriate.
I will have learned my lesson and definitly not rely on getting any further chances.

A month would say "this behaviour is absolutely not tolerated but we will give you one last chance."

Four days says "do whatever, doesn't matter"

First off, its nice that you know that what you did was wrong, but it really isn't that bad to find a game, especially when you are 1300 rating. When 2000 rated players can do it, so can everyone.

Rating manipulation does damage the trueskill system - it propagates through the playerbase and makes trueskill less confident in everyone's ability, and its not that accurate in the first place, so this isn't helping.

As moderators, we reserve the right to apply any procedure we deem appropriate. Currently, FAF is under attack by people who do just that. We took the decision to remove anyone whos using these methods.

Ideally you should have PMed the mod group so we wouldn't be having this discussion in public, but it doesn't hurt for others to see this as well.

Regardless, as a mod team we do offer the chance for everyone to come clean, and you can have that chance too. However, this isn't to say that we take such offenses lightly.
after some discussion, the mod team has agreed to give you a 4 day ban instead of permanent, given that you did this knowingly for extended periods of time, and also knowing that there were others who were banned for this as well.

If you show a good attitude we may consider reducing you ban further, and this also applies to anyone else reading this. Showing a good attitude to correct your mistakes and be better behaved in the future, leads to reduction in ban time. Showing a bad attitude indicates that you haven't learned your lesson and makes our actions harsher instead.

Remember, it is always your actions and choices that dictate whether you are able to play faf or not, and you can always choose to follow a path where moderation will have no problem with you.

Thanks again, kind regards, the moderation team.

still this would be the very first administrative action taken against me and looking at the post of banned exploits somewhere in the middle can be found:
"- Using any script to alter information shown to the lobby/client or game" which is what i did...

the usual procedure claimed in the topic of the post would be be: warning, week ban, month ban, perma ban... but i get the perma ban right away without even a second chance?

With regards to the current happenings, If you don't live up to you'r own rules, how can you expect other to do so?

You are a victim of your own behaviour.
