shift g does prevent the formation thing, but instead it'll ruin the formation for you. The pathfinding is going to be horrendous whilest AoE weapons can destroy everything.

Is it actually possible to make a mod to stop units walking in formation?

If you really don't want this to happen (it's also the reason why units take a long time to respond) you have to use shift g after issuing the order

maybe you pressed ctrl while clicking? That will issue a formation move as well.

I'm pretty sure i didn't.

If you hold RMB and rotate you will select the final position of the army that will go there in the formation. This can happen very fast you your click is just bit longer than it should be and you already move cursor a bit. Blame UI lag, dont do such hectic clicking and it wont happen :P

But i don't hold the RMB down (00:03). And i'm 100% i don't hold the RMB down for too long. The weird thing is, I've tested it to try and reproduce it, but i didn't manage do make my units move in formation even when i held down my RMB for 1 sec (while it happens all the time ingame when i'm clicking for 0,2sec or something).

Furthermore, it also happens when i'm not spamming the move command (00:03).

^ See the clip

At 00:03 seconds i select my army and do a quick movement order. I don't hold it for too long, i don't drag my mouse while i've clicked with my mouse. Just a quick and simple click. So why the f*** do you see my entire army moving back in formation 5-10 seconds later? Can someone please explain this to me cause i apparently have no clue how it works.

At 00:17 it happens again, and it happens 1/2 times more in the vid if i'm correct.

Also for some reason this only happens to me when i've got a large number of units selected. This has never ever happened to me before with a small amount of units.

Because of this irritating feature i've had to delay so many of my attacks (simply because my units weren't at the front), it's not even funny.

Please save this poor soul from a salt overdose!
