I started playing TA arround 2 Years befor that, and I liked it! I didn´t understand much but I liked it! :D

When the Demo was released my brother told me that there´s a new "TA". So I downloaded it and and started playing it. (I think it was nov. 2006)
As We all know we could only play Cybran (Thats one of the reasons why I like Cybran so much), but it instantly was much of an Improvement. Upgeadable Commanders, 4 Techlevels including the huge and fearsome Experimentals
like the 500m long Atlantis or the 200m high GC.
But the best feature in SC is definitely the Stategic Zoom. That revolutionized the Genre.

It´s a good day to mind the people, that made it posslible to play this great game.

First, A massive thanks to the FAF creators and maintainer as well as everyone in the community, for running and improving this masterpiece.

But my greatest thanks goes to the people, who made this awsome game. So it´s time to say:

Thank you Chris.

Let many many years of Stategic and diverse gameplay come, as well as improvments, new maps, mods and balance changes come :)

In the original Supcom beams weapons were similar to 'Babylon 5'. Armor, shields, and whatever didn't matter. A GC's Phason beam did around 20k damage a second. GC had a cool walking SFX similar to the tripod walkers seen in the 'War of the Worlds' movie.

Nuclear missile made a cool beeping sound when flying through the air. Broadswords were actually scary. Cybran tech 3 SAM was a shot gun, firing 8 missiles at once. Nuke silos took forever to get, but you could fire missile rapidly with enough support commanders assisting it.

Good times. LOL @ Cybran's mobile T3 artillery constantly shaking the screen when the proton shells hit. Supcom also had brighter and bigger explosions than FA. Although they were just white flashes and screen flares.

I am honestly kinda impressed no one brought this up yet but today is the 10 year anniversary of Supreme Commander. (If its still the 16th for you)

Now I know this is Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance but lets face it. Without Vanilla there would be no FA thus no FAF.

So let us take a moment to look back! To look back at Supreme Commander in its original glory.
Remember that time where a single GC could kill like 3 spiders? Ah... I do too! Good times...
Remember that time when harbingers had no shields and loyalists were top T3 assault bot? Indeed I do!
Lets not forget the glorious mass fab spam and tech 2 land OPness of the era of vanilla as well!
Not to mention how much HP air units had and how it was still balanced. And of course the good ol T2 gunship model for the Cybran too. Now that looked nice.

Now aside from trying to figure out which story ending is canon. I think we can agree that Supreme Commander brought some good and memorable times!(even though my first experiences with it were on console.) And that without it, there would be no FA and we would not be here today! So let us take this time to remember the greatness of Vanilla (for those of us who played it.) and look ahead to the continuing growth of FAF as Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance also hits its 10 year birthday later this year!

Many good times have come and gone. Many players known and unknown have come and gone, Stayed or left, and many more will as we only go forward! I am so glad to have orignally found Supreme Commander and to have become apart of the entire Supreme Commander community/franchise and be apart of it for the better end of the last 9 years (Spent my first 2-3 years playing supcom on xbox 360.) with many faces and people as many ups and downs have been faced, from GPG to FAF!

So let us continue the glorious times. As I only see nothing but more!

Supreme Commander shall live forever! We are proof of that!

To a glorious next 10 years of supcom!
