When I did it it messed up on steam and am unable to play the steam version.
All the maps are blank and can't join a game so had to choose between the 2.

there is no benefit, faf supports all versions of FA equally. the benefit you get by doing that is that you get a free steam key from your retail version, and since you get a gold edition key for both supcom and fa retail, you can give those away to friends. thats about it.

there are no drawbacks either so if you like using steam then theres no reason not to i guess.

Hello! I cannot find the answer anywhere at google.
I know that my copy of game, gold edition on dvd, can be added and be fully supported by steam client.
But what are real benefits of doing so? Are there any? Or this is just additional platform that only makes compatibility problems with FAF/landlords lobby? Everything works just fine without it, but I saw people being happy that this is possible.
