9 softles cant make a voting system in 1 month?

1 Softles can make his baby in 2 days :P (with some help along the way https://github.com/HardlySoftly/softvot ... ntributors , and consulting from downlord)

The app is now completely FAF server compatible, just waiting on someone to move it across and a councillor (Zock) to open the voting. I am looking forward to casting my votes* later today.

* you get to vote on balance now as well!

I went and made this voting app since I was sick of the PC vote being perpetually put off, and Zock mentioned offhand that he would run it if there was a way to vote (thought I'd call his bluff).

I spent 7 hours making and debugging this thing yesterday, so the last thing I want is for my time to be pinned to yet another reason for the voting being delayed. By my count, I've got another 9 months* before I'm overdue on delivering my promises. If someone had wanted something like this 6 months ago, then they should have asked for it 6 months ago.

There is work ongoing right now to move my app to the "official" FAF server. If this doesn't happen by the end of today, I'm just going to propose we run it from the cloud on the VM I procured (where it was working fine).

There's a few issues right now porting the voting app I wrote to the FAF server, but it should probably be sorted sometime tomorrow.

I like your optimism, but I was kinda right, sadly. Let me repeat the OP in a different way:

Voting will then begin on Tuesday, November 8th and certainly be the most important election occurring on that day

that would be yesterday. I hope it is not delayed into the far future (soonTM).

Maybe it is also possible to start the nominations and get the process going for the other open positions (it is quite ridiculous that they are vacant for such a long time already)?

Fair point on the manipulation part, but what on Earth makes you think people are going to have any idea who to vote for or why or care if they have not been reading the message boards to begin with?

What is so hard about that? Perhaps there are bigger plans to use a system other than the message board but I just don't understand why that would happen.

That makes a lot of sense. But in that case why not have the new system in place before announcing dates.
There's nothing on the client either, besides a news from 30/10.

Even if a voting system suddenly appear on the client, it won't solve the "less than 1% consult the message board" issue, as the manifestos are all here anyway, with no quick and easy way to reach them from the client.
