hes just your average kinda guy, the occiasional idea and the occasional cancer. safe choice, has been commited for like 2 years, will be committed in the forseeable future, whatever.


im voting for him because i have seen him work. he organized tourneys (just look at tourney forum section) he organized events (empire ladder week? remember that?)
aside from saying the occasional absurdity he has a realistic idea of what will happen, what can and cant be done, ect. also pretty clear that hes gonna have a team ready from day one ect. but meh i guess. my reasons shouldnt be relevant. this is a review not why im voting for toky.

much more exciting and controvesial at the same time. has some bright points and also blemishes, rather than the relative average-ness of toky. not sure what could happen with him, could be great or terrible or inbetween.

hes the kinda of guy you vote for when you think he can actually achieve what he says. some say that false promises are no big deal, but i think it shows that he doesnt understand whats going on. its ok to be optimistic, but this is way too far. he promises to bscly rework client, when its all but abandoned by devs, no one even wants to review ready code for it. ive seen a lot of things, and most of the things he promises have failed already.

one of two things will happen:
1. a miracle
2. gets a rough wake up if he gets the position
optionally he becomes TA : "i quit because i felt like i had no influence over anything" - not exact quote(do correct if im wrong) but this is what i see when you have expectations like that.

of course lets not forget his opening statement, i think that is worth more than everything else he said put together. solid choice. really. <3

so i know biass a little bit. not super much but i have had dealing with him before. bscly i asked him to do some modelling work for me, ect, and it was cool and all.

hes a pretty nice guy, sometimes even does the work you ask him ect, but lately hes been hiding from my barely reasonable requests so i feel a tiny bit sad (

this is a pretty nice list, however i dont really know of any of the quality of the things he can put out, especially when it comes to things like mods, which are a strange one since you can be great at sim mods but terrible at ui mods, ect. ive seen biass maps but i havent really seen biass anything else tbh. i havent looked too hard but nothing really jumps to mind.
another thing is that this looks like its more suitable for m&m councillor than anything else, mods,mission scripting and knowing his maps gives me that impression.
well, tournament direction is on that list. so i looked through here and found he did indeed host some blitz tourney in july, however hes not super prominent there, if you count who appears how many times there as a td i think you get the point.
but, whatever i guess hes ok at that, and its not that being a td is the cancerlors job anyway its organizing tds so mb i should be a bit more lenient here.

overall the list of achievements is kinda nice but not mindblowing like giebs or something.

~Weekly Reporting.

yes. thank you. i think this is reasonably feasible, and would help. not perfect suggestion though. the thing is that there isnt that much progress to be reported xD monthly or biweekly would be nice. if you can spread it enough to manage weekly reporting then why not.
but one thing that all the candidates seem to forget is that they collect info. reporting it is nice but thats the (ahaha) future promotion councilors job. still wouldnt hurt to do it now.

~Tournaments.

well. why not. but allow me to be the blatant racist i am and say well it makes sense to concentrate on eu because there are more people there. this sounds like a side project that would be nice to have but doesnt make sense to be top priority. (dunno how many top players are from au/nz/overthere but i think its kinda close to 0)

semi feasible. force washy to do it. if he says no then..... cry? thats how i imagine it.

-Reintroduce the Weekly u1100, and u1500 tournaments.

yes. i personally want this. however as with anything it will take time and td effort and might be shit. we will see i guess but it could happen, and if it actually works then thats cool. would be nice to use those cancerlor powers to divert some moneys to noob tourneys so people play then pretty often. but would have that effect of that top 1100 always grabbing that $5

and lastly, i guess we all knew this was coming, but biass lives in the far reaches of australia, aka good luck calling me or being online when i am.
this is easily his biggest issue, as PC its a responsibility to be a liason between the players and the devs, and collect info and deliver it to the council.
being asleep when everyones just starting to get drunk wont ever help. theres no way to fully mitigate this disadvantage, so instead we need to look at what tradeoffs there are to biass over the other candidates.

and honestly i dont really see it. he doesnt have something like gieb to just blow people away. if gieb was in au and biass was some finland dude then it would have some discussion, but i guess i kinda consider biass to be that strange 3rd guy who you protest vote over or something xD.

he doesnt commit any crimes like the other two, but he doesnt really offer anything super substantial either. i get the impression he wanted to be m&m councilor but that isnt being looked at yet.

voting for biass is a bit like having rice for breakfast. theres nothing bad in it, and you wont get any nasty cancer, but its not terribly exciting.
and then you realize that the rice is cold because biass left it for you when he was awake and that was 8 hours ago and its kinda not great anymore and you dont really see him much unless he stays up to 3am again.

but whatever, we are all voting for him cos we have a grudge against the other 2 candidates? right?
