Be a part of the community yourself, don't just manage it. I'd say that is one of the most important things, I could go more into details about it but in essence that's how I feel.

no problem EcoNoob, did you really think this would really happen at the 8th?
[EDIT:] my fault, I misread the year :) of cause it will happen at the 8th

^ THIS.

Just to clarify, I don't have any real programming education so to say. But I made my first webpage when I was 10-11 years old, I know the SQF scripting language used in ArmA -game series like the back of my hand (similarities with python, java, C++). I've fiddled around with perl, python, php, C++ and scala, mainly minor things, but I'm not unfamiliar with programming.

Quite absurd saying that there is zero results to be expected from coding features. In no way am I saying I will singlehandedly program everything, but I've been lurking around and would like to start coding again...

other than that sure why not.

huh. can't help but adore this statement. I might even make it my sig. I really agree with both point of views. I don't think they're in opposition too. I can only hope more people get sick and tired of this "cannot be done" circle jerk syndrome we have here on FAF, Viba.

however, i am expecting that the current dev team will not do a bunch of stuff you have on that list, or take a couple of months to do even one item on there thats technically inclined.

obviously, if they do even one thing thats already a benefit, so im cool with that. but i dont expect all things to be done and i find most of them being done also unlikely.

its not that they are impossible to do, its impossible to do them all in less than 5 years time at current speeds xD

to achieve that you would need to work hard and get a whole lot of new devs or inspire/make existing ones to those things for you, possibly pulling them away from other work.
possible? maybe. if you do pull that off then, only respect to you.
if you dont pull that off, well not really a bad thing, you tried at least.
if you dont pull it off and get nothing done as well, well in that case its a waste of time, but tbh i dont see this one happening either, so really we are probably gonna have a positive experience if you were PC. thats all.

Spoiler: show
im not being pessimistic or trying to bash you, if anything i want you to succeed (i just want tokyto to succeed more xD)
however a bunch of those things ive see discussed months ago, and no dev was found to make them. they are all perfectly feasible, but i just dont think they will be done (certainly not by just asking people to do them), based on what response we had in the past.

if im proven wrong then thats a good thing, but there we go. if you are gonna do them yourself great, but i get the impression you are not planning on that. if you are gonna make someone else do it, you might need to find some new devs for that. the current ones already have a bunch of things on their plate.

tldr - ideas on their own are pretty worthless here, everyone has them. what we lack most is people who make them a reality. <3

also:

Simply isn't true, the moment you want to do something that some people oppose you're stuffed. That's what a PC will be able to sort out.

For what its worth, I think that Giebmasse has the skills and experience to match the points he's making above; I certainly know I'd enjoy working with him more.

One thing I am feeling positive about is the recognition by all candidates that the status quo isn't good enough, and that we can do better.

Spoiler: show
tempted to quote gieb here and say wheres that can-do attitude xD

but really, yeah, you can. all these technically inclined points have been brought up then abandoned by devs, no disapproval there

content is actually a bit more prohibive, but you just need to do things e clan style - do first sort problems later
thats how we:
wrote almost entire wiki
made discord server running
uploaded a bunch of avas
hosted tournaments, also hosted empire ladder week

its about about asking or not being opposed, its about doing. if theres no one to do it then dont expect miracles xD

Sorry if I'm being blunt, but this is my view so far mostly as an observer: Where is the can-do attitude in the community? The positive team spirit? Often when something, somewhere is proposed it sadly gets to this "it cannot be done" -circle jerk which I start to find a bit amusing. I understand development is based on free-time, with limited amount of people etc. Still the atmosphere could be better and more inspiring so to say :)

In my opinion things I listed are not major coding tasks, not anything like rework the connections for the game or make game support multithreading better. Sure I listed a bunch of things, but none which I don't see as realistic. It will take some time to get things done and maybe not everything gets done. In my opinion, it is good to have ideas and start crossing them off one by one. If some good momentum can be gained, maybe the overall attitude/mentality in the community will change too :) With that maybe the contributing efforts grow too.

Web page, database input, UI changes and API implementation, CRM type of functionality for reports. That is the "stalk" of my ideas in terms of coding efforts required, rest is pretty much about content generation. Seems feasible to me? Unless you're expecting everything to be done in two weeks...
