well i tryed some ways to easy make a translation mod. But a normal mod won't work here because its not active inside the gamelobby.
And without installing github and forking the FA repository you can't use the devversion localy.

So, to work local on a language file you need to create a ".scd" mod.

Nothing magic, just a renamed zip archive.

First go to your main game directory into the folder gamedata.
You will see files like 'ambience.scd' or 'units.scd'.

There are also the languagefiles like 'loc_US.scd' or maybe 'loc_FR.scd'.
But we don't need them... :)

Create a new directory named "loc" inside the gamedata folder.
Now create a directory Inside 'loc' with the shortcut-name of your language.
As example here, create a dir named 'xyz' for now.

Now copy the latest translation file inside the folder '/gamedata/loc/xyz/'.

Get the latest 'strings_db.lua' file for france from here:

(Rightclick on the button "RAW" and choose "save file to...")

Now you can edit the file.

After saving your work you need to pack the file with winzip or any other zip archiver.
Rightclick your 'loc' folder and choose "add to zip".

Now you will have the file 'loc.zip' inside gamedata.
Rename the file from 'loc.zip' to 'loc_VOX.scd'

Thats all.
Start the game and choose as language 'xyz' to test.

As for the untranslated words, they are actually translated, we use the same words in Spanish :D (English and Spanish share a lot of words).

Though, of course, the copyright disclaimer is still in English, but that's because it's generally left untranslated in some official Spanish translations, so I felt like doing the same.

"No nomads units," though, should be translated, my bad. Will be corrected by today.

I tryed FontForge but it looks so old

i think photoshop is probably best. you'd need a plugin though

extract the zip.
copy the folder "Uveso Debugger" to your mod folder:
C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\Mods\
Then activate the mod inside the modmanager.

Now start a sandbox game.
If you can see your acu press F9 to open the debug window.
Now you can press [SHIFT]+[N] or [SHIFT]+[M] to see the the language text inside the log window.
If you can't open a log window, you will find the text inside the game.log file.

Note on the log window. if you can't see it, switch to windowed mode and look behind/under the mainscreen :)
If you are in fullscreen and use [ALT]+[TAB] then you also hide the log window.
