I can at least help out a bit on this :
this can be remedied by port forwarding.

it's a two step process involving allowing both TCP and UDP throughput on port 6112 on whatever your router is

then in windows firewall checking all inbound rules that could remotely relate to Sup com FA or FAF and:
  • allowing the connection
  • and in "advanced" selecting "allow edge traversal" from the drop-down list

disabling the firewall entirely does not achieve this and presents security risks so refrain form this.

this all may sound complex but it just sounds that way it's pretty quick to get done if you're the owner of your own internet connection. otherwise if you get internet through your landlord it's gonna take convincing the landlord first to let you configure the router.

alternatively you can turn on UPNP in faf as well as in your router (most routers have it on by default). (and faf also has this on by default although if you are already in this case you'll have to turn it off and try portforwarding instead)

No, but the ladder is still not fixed yet. It looks like that the rating isn't updating fast enough after a ranked. It helps a lot to restart FAF after each match.

The tendency therefore is that if I can even get more than 3 games on ladder, I tend to get stuck in a ceaseless cycle of winning 2-3 games, and simply lose them all at the cost of one loss. Nearly 2 months ago I endured having escaped from sitting at 1270-1280 for 3 months, and now I am simply repeating that for where I am in the ladder stats (1310-1320); playing just to sit in this constant cycle seems rather tedious, and it makes me question whether there is any reason at all to continue playing ladder, when I cannot even reap the rewards gained to be tossed in just a flash.
Am I the only one who has been grinding in this thing? I know there are various examples of pure shit of ladder rating changes from the other topics, I am simply curious as to how many others recognize this ongoing occurrence, and whether or not that's favorably intended or not.
