I've suggested the same ~2 years ago, but the higher-ups deemed that too much information the serfs could handle...

The laptop problem is indeed becoming bigger, over the last year I've noticed much more players with decent CPU bench, yet simspeed slowdown later on. Two years ago that was not as much the case. I guess the infestation of the -U CPU's in badly cooled laptops...

Note that running the test as suggested in the linked thread above will now probably give different results. A bunch of things where changed, eg; the number of bullets ASF shoot. That made the game less laggy.

CPU rating smurfing should be added to the banned exploits tough.

247 is not that bad but on 6 player maps and above it will slow down late game.

Are you trolling now? For FA it will slow down the whole simulation...

Also; internet speed, RAM and cooling (anything beyond good enough) won't make any difference for FA.

It's so low because all the things you mentioned have absolutely no influence over - as the name would suggest - the CPU score. And i7 950 is old and slow, the manner in which it is cooled also has no bearing on its performance ....

Well I have no problems running the game so it's still good enough and in most games I know of it only loses a couple of fps against current cpu's which is unoticable.

It will o/c to 3.8 but it's not needed imo.

It's so low because all the things you mentioned have absolutely no influence over - as the name would suggest - the CPU score. And i7 950 is old and slow, the manner in which it is cooled also has no bearing on its performance ....

Really; the 2nd gen Core CPU's were a big jump up in performance. Core 2 Quad > i7 9x0 was a smaller step up than i7 9x0 > i7 2x00

There is only one overclockable Pentium that you can still buy new, and that is the G3258. Then, unless you want to go through the trouble of unsupported stuff, older BIOSes, etc., you also need a Z97 board.

Hello guys thank you for your input!! So AMD has good scores but in practice it slows a lot faster? hmmm.

I will post Zen's results for you guys about 2 weeks after it launches for a comparison!
Im inclined to believe E8400 on the pentium side, they are two cores yes, but the overclockable models are surely great for faf!
